I also AA'ed Sync Oni. And I was full comboing Waka Laka but then the arcade worker turned off the machine! I was within 15 seconds of the end, too. Guess I'll never know what would've come of that. I don't really mind, but it was cool because about 10 minutes before the arcade closes they turn off all the lights except those from the games and playing DDR in the dark is really cool with all the lights on the machine flashing. :)

it was an ok day for me.
So I've beaten every 9 footer on Max and Max2 home versions.
I can now combo Max300 for about the first 25 seconds.
And lastly, I've gotten Tsugaru down to 3 goods, I must AA it sometime soon.

Frustrating? Yup.

The funny thing about that place is that it's known for it's tournaments and it's ability to have the better games first. I almost always received good marks on that set of pads, since it was set to such a soft level, but when I was there, I had to literally pound on the pads to get beyond a C on most of the songs I played.
I freakin FAILED Cowgirl at AI. How ridiculous is that? Cowgirl is always an A to AA for me, but when I fail a song that I'm good at, it's pathetic. Obviously, I shouldn't blame AI, but I noticed that a lot of people failed songs, so I wasn't the only one.
Odd enough, was that I passed Sakura with a B beforehand. How weird is that?
Anyway, I tried something I haven't done in a while - 1998. Hard song, but I passed it with a C. Passed Tsugaru for the 2nd time with a D. Pathetic for me, I guess.
I finally passed Maxx Unlimited! Woot!
I pretty much faked it through the final runs, but fortunately I had enough life to get me through it. I ended up with a C.
Funny, because I asked my wife to be my "good luck" charm and watch me play it. Two days before, I had asked her the same thing, and beat Max 300 for only the third time. She really must be good DDR luck.
I haven't done anything note worthy but i have started PAing without the bar, and i noticed i don't use as much energy and i play a lil better. EG: Passed Para Survivor (270) w/o bar with only 9 non-combo steps and double digit greats. So i think i'll do away with bar-holding (not bar-raping, mind you =D).
I know there are a few DDR's in Vegas and i'll be there over the weekend. So i'm looking forward to the DDR atmosphere there.
And a congrats to you too, coaster! keep it up ^_^ *** Edited 7/22/2004 5:47:15 PM UTC by Kel***
So you're going to Vegas? Check out the arcade at Circus Circus and tell me what you think. I'm gonna be there in November... I hear they have all kinds of Bemani there. But if you can't get there, I know for sure that these places have DDR: Gameworks, Luxor, Treasure Island, New York New York, Buffalo Bill's.
coasterfreak - I also see arrows, especially when I'm trying to sleep, but I don't mind it. I used to see blocks when I was playing Tetris all the time, too.
