Powder Keg Announced

Bill - We are you going to finally graduate? ;) As for SMS changing to MSU, it's practically a done deal. Blunt got Govenor, he is from Springfield and pro-name change. I personally hate it as it will take ubber amounts of funding away from Mizzou. The reasoning is that in the state constitution there was to be only ONE state college, Mizzou. When Mizzou was created it was actually Missouri State University. It was shortened to Missouri later on and has been the state wide school since its creation. With the naming of SMS to MSU, you will ultimately *by law* making SMS THE State University and *by law* would make Mizzou forgo the *title* of THE STATE university and all major funding. It is going to be one heck of a session this coming year.

Also while I am thinking of it, what's this that we are hearing about SMS *once it becomes MSU* wanting to get into Big XII? I know Baylor is wanting out and is wanting to maybe join WAC, but could SMS compete in Big XII? I know their football field sure isn't big enough for the crowds that the south brings with them to the away games, let alone if NU came.

Word - Can't go to SDC this weekend anyway. I have to play in Mini Mizzou Saturday for the Oakland game and I have to play in 3 Point Play (girls's pep band) on Friday and Saturday.

I'm actually happy for SMS, maybe they can build a bigger football feild with all that state funding they will be stealing from the Tigers. First they get that joke of a man Steve Offord out of there, and now all this state funding. What conference is SMS in now? I know Illinois State and Southern Illinois (both in the valley with SMS for basketball), are in Division I-A for football, meaning they don't compete with bigger schools except for maybe a couple of pre-conference beatdowns to boost the big school's record. I am not sure if SMS is DI-A right now, but taking the step up would mean at least a couple of rough years in the beginning.

Down is the new up.
Ok, lets just end this NCAA Basketball discussion with me:

Duke is underrated (just wait until next year, best recruit class in a long time with two top 10 players in Josh McRoberts and Greg Paulus).

North Carolina is overrated (seriously).

Southern Illinois is the best mid-major team in the country.

End of Discussion :).
