Powder Keg Announced

Speaking of IAAPA, Jack and Peter Herschend (co-founders of SDC) were inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend.

Well done to the Herschends (Mrs. Mary included) for all the 40+ years of hard work they've put into all of the attractions they own. They certainly deserve this recognition in every respect!

Word, phooey on you. Mizzou did not cheat, that lying SOB is the problem. I know several of 'Zou Crew would love to see him swinging by his neck. He is so hated here that he has been photo shopped out of several pictures that he was originally in. It is like he no longer exists in Mizzou history. The NCAA sanctions weren't too bad though. We only lost one scholarship, so now we are down to 12. Big whoop.

That sounds cool Bill. I was wondering what they were going to do with the spike with regards to themeing.

Boom shackalocka! KU WON!

its in the woods.........
Yes, but you still can't spell SUCKS without KU. Remember that when KU beats MU in football they loose to MU in basketball, it has always been that way.

-D

Yeah, you tell that to MU about Davidson. I'd never heard of the school until a couple of days ago.

Kentucky narrowly dodged a loss by 40 points.

Swoosh - You also lose off campus recruiting for a few years, which will really hurt in the future.

Powder Keg!

By the way Swoosh, Creighton will represent the Missouri Valley Conference well with a win tomorrow night... PowderKeg.

ROYALS!!!

I have no idea where Davidson is from, but I guess they aren't too bad as they have beat or almost beat a lot of good teams here lately. I am embarrassed by the way Mizzou played Houston the second time around. How the heck Houston deserved to be in that game is beyond me as they had already lost twice in the tourney.

Anyone been to SDC lately? I might be going on the 4th, but nothing firm yet.

A funny thing about the Davidson basketball team. My sister's ex-boyfriends brother (honestly) plays for them. He was a great high school player for Desmet in StL and actually won a state championship. He wanted to play for Mizzou, but obviously was not given a scholarship. So I'm sure he was ecstatic with the outcome of that game.

The only other things I know about Davidson is that it's in NC and it has one of the highest ratios of females to males in the nation.

That's quite interesting. I know it sounds like another "Magnum is sinking" rumor by the start of it, but why would anyone lie about something like that.

In other news, SDC has officially bought the Hurricane Falls waterparks in Texas. I went by the one in The Colony, TX and it seemed like a nice little park. Nothing huge, but a fun little park. I wonder if White Water will be renamed or the other two parks renamed.

As for PowderKeg, it is still growing. I think I'll go down to Branson for a spell next weekend and do another update, unless Bill would like to take pictures for me since he is in Springfield. :)

Is the track used on Powder Keg now the standard for S&S Arrow, or is it specially designed to correspond with the Premier track that was used on Buzzsaw Falls?

I could, but the digital cam is getting fixed (boo).

Lots of free time now that football is done with.

CoasterKrazy - I believe it is option #2.

Coasterbill - Creighton Fan? My brother played for them. He graduated 3 years ago, 2 years ahead of Korver, 2 behind Buford.

Swoosh - It isn't looking good for your Tigers.

Go Jays, Illini, and especially Cats.

Down is the new up.
Word - Just because they dropped three in a row doesn't mean the season is over. They won last night (Sunday) and I'm sure they'll win next Saturday as well. Also we succeeded in not allowing Iowa State to go to the Big XII championship in football. Woo Hoo! Go Buffs beat the Sooners (yeah right).

Bill - Get that camera fixed and get down to the 'City. ;) How did you do in Football?

I hate Kansas even more than you, as they took Billy away from the Illini.

Given, Creighton is good. Davidson is ok. Houston. . .we will just ignore Houston right now. I just don't see MU doing well against Big 8 opponents when they can't even win their non-conference cup-cake games.

Congrats on the football stuff. Of the 3 colleges I am really a fan of, 1 doesn't have a football team, and the other 2 had 4 total wins including 2 against Indiana. Next year will be different when UK is off probation and has full scholarships to offer.

Down is the new up.
Big 12! The Big 8 was over 10 years ago I beleive! I still have a poster of the original Big 8 combations.

You would think someone with my knowledge of basketball would know that. I suppose next you will tell me that all the best teams from conference USA are moving to the Big East in 2006? Yeah right!

Down is the new up.
Lots more track is in the air, unfortunately no pictures for an update. Darn that MiG team member who got to the 'City and forgot their digital camera. (it wasn't me - it was Derrijk). :) Oh well, maybe I can make it down there this weekend.
Swoosh- not too bad on the football this year... we had 6 starters suspended for 3 games early in the season (not me, phew) :( but besides that, we won our district!!

Word-Big SMS fan, but like it whenever the Valley does well.

Swoosh again- What do you think about SMS changing its name to Missouri State? You aren't one of those psychos from up there that don't want it to happen are you? . . . . As for the 'City, how's it going? I haven't been there since July 21!!!

My brother told me that was going to happen like 4 years ago (Missouri State thing). What is the hold up. I bet most of the people that don't want it to happen are from St. Joseph. What a dump. At least you aren't a purple aces fan, especially when they wore their T-shirt uniforms. Ironically the T-shirt uniforms are why my brother chose Creighton over Evansville.

Basketball update - Creighton should be in the top 25 next week. Illinois will be #1, and UK should move way up IF (Giant if) they go into UNC on saterday and knock off some Heels.

Swoosh - I would just suggest staying in Columbia and having fun this weekend. That drive is kind of rediculous for just taking pictures of a mid-sized roller coaster under construction.
