Please put floorless trains on Mantis Please

Just went to SFWOA last week for the first time. I absolutely LOVED Batman Knight Flight. Just wishful thinking but it seems that BMNF is so much superior compared to Mantis because of the floorless trains. Please CP Please "Change the Trains" on Mantis. It too could rock.........
It wouldn't make a good floorless. I like it as is anyways.

Last year I rode 5 times in a row tried everything.

It tried ....It wasn't working for me.....I had to end the relationship w/ Mantis.......

I have always thought about this...I doubt it's possible though...but who knows? The station would have to be reworked and there would have to be a lot of reconfiguring everywhere on the ride (I would think...). It probably will never happen though, it just doesn't seem like Cedar Point style...or, on the other hand, maybe floorless trains for Iron Dragon and Mantis will be something we'll see in 2003, hehe :)

If it's broke fix it...

Mantis wasn't a cheap investment.

If CP prides itself as having the best.

Then it's time to upgrade what Cp already has.

Look at Flight of Fear at PKI for an example or Vampire The Arrow with Verkoma floorless suspended trains on it or Phantom's Revenge.

We were a bit disappointed with Mantis on our CP visit this year. I've never had the "male problems" on Mantis that many seem to have, but this year it did seem pretty rough with some serious headbanging going on. (also nice to see some buzzers admit that a B&M can bang)

It's certainly not the same ride I rode in 1996. Heck it's not even the same ride I rode in 97, 98, 99 or 2000. Maybe we rode on a bad day.

I have to agree that the layout would make for a pretty tame floorless, though.

Judging how the line rivals Millennium Force on somedays, (even with 2 trains capacity is near the same) I'd say it's still very popular. Although I don't care for Banshee much there are many people who like it so it shall remain the same.

I found it smooth and enjoyable.

84 coasters in Track Record!! Hypersonic XLC # 100 in July. Waiting for the 305 foot drop tower in 2003. Thank you PKD.

I have always loved Mantis. I hope that they don't change it. Maybe they could run both trains at the same time? I don't know how they would work the lines though. When I was there in May, they had some trains under the platform in blue plastic shrink wrap, maybe they have some sort of plan. I never noticed them there before.

The worst day at Cedar Point is better than the best day at work.

I've never once had any sort of head-banging or "male" problems with Mantis. I can think of a hundred currently operating coasters that hurt your head more.

Yah? Well Mantis ISN'T BROKEN. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. I rode with no headbanging. Mantis was designed to be a stand up, not a sit down or floorless. It would be a terrible floorless.

Why do they report power outages on TV?

Considering that my home standup is Iron Wolf, Mantis seems like riding on glass to me. I happen to like Mantis quite a bit. I especially like the hang time you get in the first loop. After getting beat up on Iron Wolf last weekend I am looking forward to my CP trip to ride a real standup.

I find it smooth except for the one evil Arrow transition after the corkscrew. Just like any stand up, Stand. Pull your seat all the way to your shoulders while you are standing straight up. Works for me.

On a related note at Coastermania, the op on the back, left side of the train was actually pulling te seats up, so people had no choice but to sit. This happened to Kneemeister and he had to do the whole ride on his tip toes. This guy was holding up every train as it left the station doing this.

Mantis is still great in the front row, but still really rough at the end.
Same thing happened to me the last time I went to CP this year. The guy walked by and moved the seat all the way up, sitting doesn't feel great on those bike seats.

First time I rode Mantis, I thought it was a near-perfect stand-up.....last year, I was somewhat disappointed, but still thought it was a good ride (just not worth the wait time of a Raptor or MF.....

This year, I rode during ERT, and this thing has really fallen on hard times IMO...the B&M stand-ups seem to age fast in comparison...to me. But to suggest floorless trains - NOT going to happen, esp. considering there's a really GREAT floorless so close by....

bill, awaiting the barrage from the SF haters....

You guys think Mantis is rough, try Vortex at Paramounts Great America. You could even tell if it was an Arrow or a B&M. I hate that ride, it's a good thing Riddler's Revenge is close or else I'd want to tear down ever stand up.

Well I know you're all disagreeing with him but I've been thinking about this same thing for quite some time. I was thinking maybe a sitdown too, doesn't have to be a floorless but oh well.

Everytime I ride that thing now, I have to act like I'm on my feet and standing straight when they lock me in. But I just let go after they release and so I'm actually pretty much sitting, not standing. Then when we dispatch, what I do is put my feet all the way behind me and theres a little spot where they fit in so you feet don't have to put up with all the strain. That's the way I ride that thing now, but I can't even stand it. I haven't ridden that thing in like 2 or 3 years now because the line is always so long and it's not even really enjoyable. I'll admit it is the best standup I've ridden, but that's only because I've ridden Shockwave and King Cobra as my only other 2. It'll have some competition for me though when I go to Sfmm later this month.
