Well coaster bob, I agree with ya ... I'd like to see floorless on mantis but, It will never happen. It's just I'm not a fan of standups. mantis Does have a pretty good layout tho.. Nice paceing. I think it would be a great floorless. one can dream i guess.

Is anyone else AMAZED at how long the lines for Mantis are? That's why it won't get changed.....
Now WHY the lines are so long, that's a mystery to me.....certainly not worth an hour wait, IMO, but for many people it is I guess.......oh well, fewer people in line for Raptor, the Force, or WT.....:)

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?
rollergator, I think the one main ingredient in the length of Mantis lines is it's close proximity to MF. I'm certainly no CP expert but we've visited 5 of the 6 seasons that MAntis has been open and the lines actually seem every bit as big now as they were when Mantis first opened. Other lines in the park (like Magnum and Raptor) have slowly declined each year. I can remember being happy about waiting only an hour for Magnum a few years back.
Mantis still has some pretty long lines and I think it's all about location.

My feeling has always been that it's just because of its proximity to MF. People head over to MF, don't feel like waiting for 3 hours, and hop over to Mantis. That's what I did when I went to CP, except that it was so early Mantis was a walk-on.
It didn't do anything for me, really, and I only rode it once over two days at the park. For what it's worth, though, Batman: Knight Flight didn't excite me, either. Medusa East is hard to live up to.

Longest I've waited for MF was about 1-1/4...for me, that's about all I can take, even with fast-moving lines AND a great coaster at the end.....when I see an hour-long wait for a ride that I really don't care for that much, it 's the old "to each their own" argument....
I've always subscribed to the *shorter queue* theory, but after seeing Psyclone as a walk-on and Deja Vu right next door at 2:30, not so sure anymore...I think even the Geeps know a bad thing when they ride it!
when I first rode Mantis, and it was SOOO much better, an hour wouldn't be too much....the last few times I rode it, I thought...hmm, Maggie, Millie, Raptor, CCMR, with the same or shorter waits...

Welcome to the Cedar Point skyride....we'll take you up 50, drop you down 30, all at an amazing speed of 6 miles per hour....we won't see you back unless you make the return trip!
Instead of a floorless train on mantis, put it on Iron Wolf at SFGAm, because that ride needs a new train.

The only thing I don't like at Mantis is the ops stapling me underneath. They raise your harnest up to where the bike seat is holding me up. tryied to make a comfortabe posistion on it but couldn't.

Went to CB 02 but got addicted to The Flying Eagles.
That is the best ride on the planet.

It is do the fact that stand-up coasters have a slower dispatch interval. First, riders need to adjust their seat to their height. Next, they do the OTSR followed by the seat belt. The operators have to check both OTSR AND seat belt. And most of the time, there is an idiot who does the "jump up and down" thing and gets locked in a position with his feet far from the floor of the train and they have to release all the seats again and start over.
