Please put floorless trains on Mantis Please

They'll never change the trains. As long as it stays popular, they won't change anything. I rode a few times last year, and never experienced any time of pain. It just isn't that intense, IMO. It seems kinda slow between elements and it didn't live up to my expectations. I rode in the front row once also, and it is cool, but not much better than any other rows. The only thing I want them to change about Mantis is the paint. It looks like crap right now, and when it is freshly painted, it looks awesome.
Why does everybody complain about Mantis being rough? CP wouldn't put floorless trains on Mantis because SFWOA has a floorless.

Well coaster bob, I agree with ya ... I'd like to see floorless on mantis but, It will never happen. It's just I'm not a fan of standups. mantis Does have a pretty good layout tho.. Nice paceing. I think it would be a great floorless. one can dream i guess.

Top 5:
5) S:ros Sfdl 4) Raptor 3) Apollos Chariot 2) Magnum 1) Millennium Force

coasting ohio, that would be Very cool too ! I saw the patent on them ( from some old thread here ) that would be an intersting ride especially how Mantis goes over the water

Is anyone else AMAZED at how long the lines for Mantis are? That's why it won't get changed.....

Now WHY the lines are so long, that's a mystery to me.....certainly not worth an hour wait, IMO, but for many people it is I guess.......oh well, fewer people in line for Raptor, the Force, or WT.....:)

See the thing is floorless trains sit higher so you'd have to change track guage, cars, station, make inversions a tad bigger. Plus they wouldn't invest that much money, it'd be better to just build a floorless.

rollergator, I think the one main ingredient in the length of Mantis lines is it's close proximity to MF. I'm certainly no CP expert but we've visited 5 of the 6 seasons that MAntis has been open and the lines actually seem every bit as big now as they were when Mantis first opened. Other lines in the park (like Magnum and Raptor) have slowly declined each year. I can remember being happy about waiting only an hour for Magnum a few years back.

Mantis still has some pretty long lines and I think it's all about location.

My feeling has always been that it's just because of its proximity to MF. People head over to MF, don't feel like waiting for 3 hours, and hop over to Mantis. That's what I did when I went to CP, except that it was so early Mantis was a walk-on.

It didn't do anything for me, really, and I only rode it once over two days at the park. For what it's worth, though, Batman: Knight Flight didn't excite me, either. Medusa East is hard to live up to.

Longest I've waited for MF was about 1-1/4...for me, that's about all I can take, even with fast-moving lines AND a great coaster at the end.....when I see an hour-long wait for a ride that I really don't care for that much, it 's the old "to each their own" argument....

I've always subscribed to the *shorter queue* theory, but after seeing Psyclone as a walk-on and Deja Vu right next door at 2:30, not so sure anymore...I think even the Geeps know a bad thing when they ride it!

when I first rode Mantis, and it was SOOO much better, an hour wouldn't be too much....the last few times I rode it, I thought...hmm, Maggie, Millie, Raptor, CCMR, with the same or shorter waits...

Welcome to the Cedar Point skyride....we'll take you up 50, drop you down 30, all at an amazing speed of 6 miles per hour....we won't see you back unless you make the return trip!

Instead of a floorless train on mantis, put it on Iron Wolf at SFGAm, because that ride needs a new train.

Six Flags-Its everywhere you want to be...sadly:(

Teenage Ninja is on the right track. B&M designs their rides around the rider's heart. The rider's heart is in a different place on a standup than it would be on a sitdown or floorless. As a resuly, putting these trains would most likely result in an uncomfortable ride for everyone. It may only be a difference of a few inches, but that could be enough to totally throw off the ride.

NO! Mantis was meant to be a stand-up, and it would greatly DECREASE the variety of coasters at Cedar Point if it were a floorless. Floorless coasters are just basic sit-downs, so I don't know why so many people are so obsessed with them....besides, Mantis wouldn't work as a floorless. "Oh, Mantis hurts"....boo hoo, just don't ride it and help make the lines shorter for those who do. Mantis, the greatest stand-up of all time.

The only thing I don't like at Mantis is the ops stapling me underneath. They raise your harnest up to where the bike seat is holding me up. tryied to make a comfortabe posistion on it but couldn't.

That is the best ride on the planet.

it wouldnt be worth it, the best element of a floor less is the zero G roll matis doesnt have that
It may not even be able to be done, because all the forces would be measured differently. My best guess is that it would cost about 3-4 million to pull it off. It's not worth it. I rode Mantis this year and hated every second of it because it was so rough! That kind of money is not worth the investment when it will cause zero increase in attendance. I would like to see it changed so I could ride it comfortably again, but CP's management is too smart for that.

It is do the fact that stand-up coasters have a slower dispatch interval. First, riders need to adjust their seat to their height. Next, they do the OTSR followed by the seat belt. The operators have to check both OTSR AND seat belt. And most of the time, there is an idiot who does the "jump up and down" thing and gets locked in a position with his feet far from the floor of the train and they have to release all the seats again and start over.

I'm in the boat with those who don't particularly care for Mantis. I like it, I just get a lot of headbanging out of it. (probably because I have a huge head and all LOL) Allot of it is probably due to the fact that I'm used to Chang and I get a marvelous ride out of it every time I get on it. (no matter how long it takes due to running one train allot and stacking when there's two trains running, but that's another thread entirely.) No headbanging on Chang for me for some reason. Maybe I'm just riding Mantis wrong or something. (but then again, if I'm riding Mantis wrong, and riding Chang the same way, then why the absence of headbanging on the later?)

Nasai, they complain about Mantis!!! Imagine if they had Fujin Rajim II ;) Now that was a rough one.....
Hey Tyler, CP doesn't have a floorless either. You say they're too much like a sit down? Why does CP have 2 woodies, 2 inverts...
