1984-King Cobra, US first stand-up
So many of you just need to get over yourselves. PKI just built a monstrous woodie, a great iverted kinds coaster, and rehabed FoF. Its a miracle they are building anything, its astonishing that they are building something as proggrisive and exctiting as something like this. All I can say is that PKI know's how to bring in the crowds, keep them there, and keep them happy.
And, BTW, how many of you have ridden Spiderman before you put it down? The first time i rode it was a life altering experince for me.

I'm disappointed in Kings Island I really was praying for a record giga coaster for 2002? Oh-well this was fun anyway. Anyone else?

Tomb Raider Giga-coaster
(Most Likely)
Let's just hope this thing isn't like MIB in Florida. That thing was a MAJOR disappointment. If it's anything like Indiana Jones or Spiderman, we're looking at a winner.

There is no such thing as inner peace. There is only nervousness and death.
Geeze! Don't pee your pants people! Be happy you are getting an amazing simulator ride that sounds to be something like Spiderman. You will get another rollercoaster in time, but it's nothing to get excited about...sheesh!

I'm going to be at CP July 10th & 11th. I'll be at SFWOA the 12th of July. See you there!
You people who are all "PKI IS GOING TO SINK NOW BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET A GIGA COASTER WITH A 0-400MPH LAUNCH IN .000567 SECONDS INTO 36 INVERSIONS WHILE DIVING UNDERWATER AND THROUGH HELL" need to shutup. Seriously. So they didn't get a coaster for once, big deal. It's their park. That's what they decided to do. We understand you don't like their decision. You've only managed to tell everyone in the world your opinion four-thousand times. Give it a break and give the park a break.
I personally think this will be a great addition to PKI. It may not have been exactly what I wanted, but you don't see me getting all fired up about it not being a record demolishing coaster, do you?
I mean c'mon. It's only your fault that it was such a big letdown. You people who built it up for yourselves that it was going to be this huge coaster that nothing else would ever touch, you're the source of your own dissapointment. Get over it and be thankful the park is installing SOMETHING. Something that looks to be great, even!

If you really take this so seriously that you would have walked out of the park in disgust, you seriously need to get your priorities straight. First of all, if you live in Ohio, you have more coasters near you than you can shake a stick at. Second of all, that really shouldn't matter, because its just A RIDE!! that's right! they are building it so people besides you can HAVE FUN!!! build your own park and you can build whatever you want. Really, stop taking this all so seriously, go ride som coasters, have some fun!

Face it guys! We made the hype ourselves!!! PKI didn't! We were bound to disappoint ourselves. Take a walk, get an ice cream, come back, and I think you'll feel a lot better.

I don't get it. For all anyone knows it could still have coaster elements. Who's to say that you couldn't use B&M Oblivion trains in a controlled track environment taking you through the building and then up a chain lift to a verticle drop into a volcano? Although it's an UNLIKELY scenario, wait until all the details come back before passing judgement.
Personally, I happy if it's a dark ride half as good as Spiderman or Indy Jones. I wouldn't mind something like that being in my backyard. Sure we all want to see coasters come to our neck of the woods, but, putting in 3 coasters in 3 years deserves having a year off...IMO.
Chris (who is more bummed that it's not a Vahalla recreation)
3 coasters during the past 3 years, rebirth to FoF, making SOB better. PKI doesn't need to add a new coaster every year...

Let the bears pay the Bear Tax, I pay the Homer Tax.
I wonder who is designing it.
I personally would rather have a cool dark ride than a coaster. I mean, if they would have got a giga, big deal, I could have just went to CP to ride it! There aren't many parks around here with rides like this, and Spidey at IOA was one of the best rides I have ever ridden!

The Pens will win the Stanley Cup in 2002!
On TOMB RAIDER: The Ride, adventuring guests are in for an experience
unique to the theme park universe that is filled with all of Lara Croft's real
passions: raiding tombs, besting bad guys and one extreme adventure after
another. The excitement begins with a journey into a foreboding ancient
temple. As stone walls give way to others, guests will proceed through
mysterious chambers, engraved with strange, runic symbols and the debris of
failed expeditions, as a sense of impending doom grows. With only seconds to
spare before certain calamity, guests strap in to the only possible vehicle of
escape. Playing off scenes from the motion picture filmed in Cambodia and
Iceland, the escape will include rocketing upward for a close encounter in an
ice cave with menacing, razor-sharp stalactites and a face-first plunge
straight down toward a pit of boiling, red-hot lava.
THE ABOVE HAS ME WONDERING IF IT COULD BE A COASTER THAT HAS AN INTERACTIVE Q EXPERIENCE! Still they have not really explained enough about the ride to make me think that it is a coaster or not. what else could the escape be....almost sounds like Hypersonic XLC with superb theming. But I could be wrong. LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN! Either way it ends up I think I will enjoy it nonetheless.

This shows how much PKI wants there to be something for everyone and not just a thrill seeker park, not just a kiddie park, and not just a plain amusement park. They want to be a family theme park just like IOA and I know that would be a beautiful thing for the ones that have been and the ones that can't afford to go. PKI obviously can't be and doesn't want to be Cedar Point and has been in the parks shadows for several years. I think this will be their breakthrough. Hopefully at least! :) :) :)

MooreOn, Koaster King, ioaddict33...AMEN!
Why does everyone have to be so upset that it isn't a coaster. They have built one coaster each year since 1997. It's time for a change, and this will be a great addition. Give it a chance.
That escape vehicle is the only thing still giving me hope about this ride. Maybe it's a thrust air? Or perhaps a Hulk like launch? Or it could just be some land rover. It also said that this would be unique. Could this be the first dark ride/coaster hybrid? I know I didn't care for MIB or Spiderman at Universal, but if all of these were coupled with a coaster, PKI might just be delivering us the most revolutionary ride since the Switchback Railway. Or it might be a crappy dark ride. Who knows?
Now we can all start using the acronym, TR:TR ;)

I am feeling more and more that we cannot rule out a coaster of some type. I am visioning a thrust air or a dive machine......entering the ride vehicle for escape sounds more and more like this.
