Patriot Goes Vertical!

Hey I for one really like the color.

AV - Busy with Homecoming stuff over at Mizzou. The next time I will be at the park is Sunday.

I was at WOF last weekend and was shocked at how fast this thing was moving...now a week later I am still impressed.

BTW...I was at the park for 2 hours last Friday night...and was evac'd out of Mamba. It was chilly, but I was surprised at how much fog those 28 fog machines could make. It was sweet!!!

The layout of the ride looks really great, good elements and great pacing from beginning to end.
(At least judging from the animation... who knows if it will actually run like that?)

No MCBR, with a kind of unique airtime hill thrown in. I think the coaster itself is a fantastic midsize invert - makes one almost forget the how awful those supports look.

^LOL! It would still suck, Clint. I think we should boycott the park (and all Cedar Fair parks in general) just because it's the wrong shade of red to our liking.

Boycott the park? Sure, why not! I mean, I've yet to go, and I really don't see myself getting out that way either by choice or by chance any time soon, so that should be easy :).

Oh, and P.S., is 802.11g any relation to HomeyG?

...actually, I really begin to like this ride, the longer I look at those videos, it has a great rhythm too it, some elements with a lot of force and then some more flying/floating sections, in a seemingly perfect combination - it feels like a good composition if you parallel coaster design with writing music.

It doesn't have a "big bang" ending, but that's exactly what will make people want to ride that thing again and again.
I think they really have a winner on their hands ride-wise!

^wow, I didn't realise how similar they actually are. They definitely are cooked along the same "recipe".
My prediction is though that the pacing of patriot might feel even better than talon (the high speed bank after the first inversion looks really cool and the shortening of the "raptoring" section after the inclined helix really helps to keep the rhythm of the coaster that almost feels like it's doing a breathing motion between hi-Gs and weightlessness.

Wow, The Voyage and The Patriot got topped off The same day. What are the odds of that?

wingover, or sidewinder area of the ride seems a bit different then talon. Do you guys think only 4 inversions are going to bother others though?
