Patriot Goes Vertical!

I honestly think that they will not have a choice a rerouting the fence around Patriot. They will, however, also have to add fences around the low lying areas to keep people out (ie. the loop, the first drop, etc).

About my signature -- fits me don't you think? ;)

It's perfect!

I can understand the need for low lying fencing and I think that Knotts did as good of a job as a park could do with SB. The black fence that's pretty much impossible to climb is nice looking and I hope that it's the direction that they choose.

The videos show some sort of black fence around the areas that you mentioned but it also shows a wood shed over the storage area.

Yes but if you look at the printouts that Nick gave us, that shed is not there.

That's too bad. It looked like it might provide some nice foot choppers heading in the station fly over.
Looking very good. Before we know it, the trains will be here and my wish to be a 'wonder twin' will be back in mind......'form of some water'....inside the water dummies.

Geez...I just dated myself.... :O

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
^LOL! Man you are old, haven't thought about that cartoon forever.
Well I got a chance to swing by the park today and I WAS very inmpressed. I have been following the construction of Patriot since the very first piece of track arrived at WOF. I am glad I have had the oppertunity to be part of the Update Crew.

Gotta watch more Cartoon Network, Swooshy...those old H-B cartoons, and others, show up quite a bit in episodes of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.

Not that I'm a fan or anything... ;)

Man you're old too. ;) Bill, when are you going to come up and give our "bird" a test drive? We can do SDC/CC while you are up as well... you could make it an add-on to HWN. :)
rollergator - I agree, Freeze has always been my favorite Missouri steel, but Freeze was dethroned by Powder Keg.

I'm glad to see Missouri parks are developing to make Missouri a coaster destination. You could easily plan a three day weekend here and hit WOF, SFStl, and SDC/CC each day.

I just sucks that each require separate passes :( Maybe in a theme park Utopia, regional parks would band together to create a combo-park season pass. Hell, they let the park employees do it! That was a huge perk working for WOF and getting into SfStl and SDC free by showing your employee badge.

The Patriot's got me spendin' with those lady lumps. I'll be ordering a season pass for the first time in years since Mamba opened.

Oops, sorry....GregBuzz isn't insane, I had just mentioned (before deleting my post) that Freeze is my favorite steelie in Missouri...followed either by WildFire or TnT...I have a hard time deciding, that is SUCH a great mine train. :)

edit: I must mention I haven't seen the Arch since P-Keg was built...might get to remedy that this year... ;)

:)

P.S. For visitors, DO ride up in the Arch....I thought being high up in COASTERS was scary? Not compared to THAT! -:~O *** Edited 1/18/2006 3:27:17 AM UTC by rollergator***

Going up to the observation deck in the Arch on a windy day is a lot of fun. It is hard to believe that thing can sway that much and it is still safe for you to be up there.

Bill you still didn't answer me when you were coming to WOF this season. ;)

Nick put up a new update that shows the latest progress on the station and gift shop over at the official site. This new area is looking good.
Swoosh...do we have an anticipated arrival date for the trains?

Also, am I the only one that thinks the elevators (technically may be a funicular...I am not an expert) inside the arch look like the inside of a clothes dryer?

^I've heard that if all goes to plan next week.
