Patriot Goes Vertical!

Well they sure aren't wasting time on this project. Yesterday there was nothing, today there is about 8-10 supports up. If they continue to move at this speed they should have the ride complete by middle January.

Worlds of Fun has on the Patriot site a webcam

To get a better idea of what they are working on, Jive took some pictures from Worlds of Fun Avenue.

All I can say is that it is an exciting weekend in KC with HAUNT starting and the construction going on. :)

very exciting in deed
As always, thanks for the update Swoosh!

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
OMG. Look at the shape and color of those supports. This coaster is really going to suck. Big time.
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say I don't care about colors. They just don't matter at all.

I'm just waiting for the British loyalist coaster from SFStL as a counter.

Down is the new up.

I can understand not liking the color of a ride, but what is wrong with the shape of the supports?
And how do either of these two things mean that this coaster is going to suck?

Railblazer - Rob was poking fun at the enthusiasts who do make comments such as that. He wasn't serious.
Its exciting for them since they havent really got a coaster in a few years, and also another one that is marquee, that is very encouraging so lets hope it keeps going to the day its hype comes.

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

Even though I have little to no interest into going to WOF, I actually think the ride looks like it will be a hella lot of fun. I may be in the minotiy, but I really liked Silver Bullet....

^LMAO, Rob.

Don't forget the name sucks as well as the colors. That's what REALLY makes a coaster ya know. ;-)

I agree.. Silver Bullet was very underrated, IMO.

I can't wait to ride Patriot next year!

I love how the Missouri parks all take turns building coasters so that I have something to do in the off season.
  • 2002 - Celebration City Constructions
  • 2003 - Orient Deconstruction/Spinning Dragons
  • 2004 - PowderKeg
  • 2005 - Patriot

Who says Missouri isn't a "booming" coaster state?

I have some close up photos that I took today at Worlds. They can be seen here: http://www.worldsoffun.org/photo_gallery.asp?whicharea='Worlds%20of%20fun'&subarea='2006%20New%20Ride%20Construction'

Jeff's pictures can be seen here. That link should work as the one above does not.

Um, Rob? Don't you know you're supposed to (required by enthusiast law) add a smiley or winky when you're being sarcastic?

Oh, and, uh, I think Patriot is going to suck. I mean, it has a strip on it...

That stripe is just a power strip so that it can power the train through the ride. DUH! ;)

Yeah, it's a new technology B&M is working on. Who says B&M doesn't inovate?
