Is there anywhere I can get the Top 50 list? I don't get Amusement Today.
I agree with Jeff. It's not what YOU think. It's tons and tons of opinions or more like tallies and they are averaged together. So basically, more people tend to like Raging Bull better than Nitro. So is it really that bad? Raging Bull does look a little bit better than Nitro though. And much better than Apollos' Chariot. But that's just from looks. I've yet to ride these three Beemer speed coasters, then I'll tell you ALL about them...;)

Barry: Not only is Holiday World the only park with woodies in the Top 10, they're the only park with woodies in the TOP 5 !!!!! Well deserved, too -) *** This post was edited by Mamoosh on 7/31/2001. ***
Nice quote Jeff, "Go have some Dip-n-Dots or something and relax a little."

Current Favorite Coasters:
1)Raging Bull 2)Millennium Force 3)Medusa (SFMW) 4)Vertical Velocity (SFGAm) 5)Incredible Hulk, The
Some random thoughts on the results:

- Every hyper/giga in the country made the steel list, except poor old Wild Thing (and not counting Steel Eel or Manhattan Express). It may not always be the case, but sometimes bigger is better. Sure would like to see PKI join that list.:)

- B&M and CCI lead the way with 11 coasters each. Really says something about the quality of their rides, doesn't it?

- Where is Six Flags Darken Lake? ;)

- Giovanola has two coasters in the U.S., and both made the list. Vekoma has countless, and none made the list.

- Did you see the stats for friendliest park staff? Holiday World received a whopping 60% of the vote (including mine). Raven being number one is great, but this and cleanest park are the ones I think the park should be most proud of.

- What do Michigan, Bessemer, Atlanta, Chariot, Lightning, Darien, Worlds, Gurnee, Alpengeist, Villain, Berry, and Arlington all have in common? They're all misspelled on the AT website. Sheesh, don't they proofread before they post stuff on their site?

- It will be interesting to see who wins best landscaping next year. From the photos I've seen, Bonfante Gardens could give Busch Gardens a run for their money.

Jeff,

I think there is a "breast" coaster at Dollywood. At least when it was announced it was supposed to resemble, in some ways, her proud attributes.
I rode S:ROS at SFNE 3 times 2 days ago and it was amazing. I've been on Magnum 3 times also and I think putting S:ROS above Magnum was the right choice. Raptor was a little too low at no. 8 but MF was just right at no. 1. I'm so glad to see ghostrider up there at no.6 it is and amazing ride. Pretty nice job this year on the rankings.
Hello mate
Once again, immature.

Ragin Bull:

IMHO the saying "bigger is better" only applies to steel. Shivering Timbers is the tallest in the Top 5 at 125' tall. In the Top 10 Wood only Texas Giant is over 125' tall, and there are only three in the Top 25 [TX Giant, Boss, and Beast] over 125'. Where is Rattler? Herc? Mean Streak? SOB? The fact that the Top 10 consists of woodies that are on average only 100' tall speaks volumes.

Anyone else agree??
I hate these "official" top 25 or 10 lists...well any top 10 list for that matter.

Maybe I ain't so shy!
I disagree with a lot of the ratings but remeber this survey was casted over thousands of enthuiasts compared to our 1 opinion.

Cedar Point, it doesn't get any better then that:)
Well, AT correctly predicted MF moving to the top of the list this year. It placed #2, behind Magnum, last year, and everyone said it was probably due to the number of people who hadn't ridden it.

I'm looking for Nitro and Phantom's Revenge to move up the list in 2002. And on a personal note, I think Steel Force at #4, above coastesrs like PR, S:RoS and Raptor is a tragedy.

Nobody here noticed that Hypersonic isn't on the list. (At least, not on the list we see here.) I expected it to at least crack the list. You can't attribute it to the lack of riders, either, since Phantom's Revenge opened way after H:XLC. Interesting.

Well considering that a disproportionate number of so-called "enthusiasts" are overweight, maybe there weren't enough people who could squeeze in to ride it.

Nice to see some different rides in the Top Fives. I'm glad to see Superman and Boulder Dash (my two home coasters) in the top fives for their respective categories.
I'm Glad to see S:ue and Villain Make this list.
That is a surprise ! (well not really they ARE good coasters) CP Coasters are an easy gimme.... but to see SFWOA in the list ! Not bad . way to go SFWOA !

Why is everyone knocking Magnum? I made my frist trip to Cedar Point last week and thought it was much better than Millenium Force.

I guess people just like to root for the underdog...

Anyone been to Kansas City to ride their hyper?
Texas Giant is WAY better than Mean Streak... You must have ridden on a bad day, because Mean Streak was horrible.
