Everyone is different. No two people are not on fire.

people DON'T think Mia is getting NOTHING new remember they are still getting the swan boats it may not be much but its better than nothing, the swan boats may also help a tiny bit with the atmosphere of the park.

I personally think it would be a smart move to make MIA exactly what Cedar Point cant and wont be. I will leave you all to you own ideas on that one. The swan boats are a great idea to give the park a more family flavor. I also think eventually they should and will add Camp Snoopy to the park to further the family flavor.
beast i have to agree with you that a camp snoopy would do a whole lot to the park, and I thinks MIA is destinned to have one because all the other CF parks do, exception of valleyfair, but valley fair seems to be the exception many times, also Ill say it again that a "Coasters" restarount as seen at all the other CF parks (with the exception of valleyfair again) is in the iminit future
Two things:

1) VF has had a Coasters since 1997

2) What's an Iminit?

Yep and those are "hand-me-downs" from Cedar Point and Dorney Park. :) Enjoy "Bench: the Ride" in 2004!

Swooshy, your sarcasim is bordering on offensive. Those that live near to MIA , and want it to succeed, don't need your jokes.

I'd take "hand me downs" anyday, to fill up the park. Why do you have a problem with them doing that?

Put a cork in it and realize that MIA is NOT a major market park. You do know better, don't you?

MrScott (with ruffled feathers tonight) :)

Oh, and attendance wise, they did just fine this year...after a slower than normal start.

Check CedarFair.com if you have doubts. CF knows what they are doing with there various parks, of which, MIA is now a part of. Get over it.

MrScott

Everyone knows brand new swan boats are so much better then used ones Scott ;)

I appologize for the last part of my comment - however I'm not sure what was offensive about pointing out that the swan boats are coming from CP & DP. I guess I missed something. I want the park to succeed, but I also have to point out that we need to be level headed about the immediate future of this park.

I don't think it was the one post, but the sum of recent posts on this page Swoosh (not just yours). The MiA'ers are a little dissappointed, and repeated remarks about hand me downs, benches, etc got the natives (including me) riled ;).

Stepping back, it does deserve a chuckle. Just don't push it too far.

Ah yeah, were disappointed. I put it into perspective. Here's the deal. We have access to the best interms of coasters in the midwest. I live near Detroit. Within a 6 hour drive I have SFGAM, CP, PKI, PCW, SFWOA and MA. To have a park in Michigan is a big deal; especially for Michiganders. When CF purchased MA everyone (mainstream point of veiw) that CF would turn MA into a major player. In the market that I live in there is four of some of the highest attendece seasonal parks in the country. So to have a mediocre park in the myst of all that greatness is disappointing. To add fuel to the fire. CF was suppose to create another park in the 70's in the Michigan Irish Hills. The original owner passed away. Instead CF purchased Valleyfair!. I'm not saying MA isn't a success from a family turning a deer park into an amusement park. It needs to be taken to the next level and so far the CF 5 year vision falls a little short of what most people would expect.

2) What's an Iminit?

Just to clarify, I think it has something to do with a "yut"...not sure though.

Hey, we'll get what we get, and we'll enjoy another season at MiA. Good things come to those who wait folks. It was either going to be CF or SF...from the looks of things with SF, I'm glad it was CF.

Glad to see Kara back. :)

my worst day coastering is better than my best day fishing.

now that Orient Express's removal to make room for spinning dragon has been anounced i was wondering about its fait and was interested whether it may come to MIA or not, I would heavily injoy MIA getting coaster new or old because the park just needs nore rides in general. As my home park MIA just doesnt seem to keep people busy for a whole day

So I was just wondering what everyone thinks about Orient express and if it just might come to MIA. CF may not swap rides between parks nearly as often as SF but they have done it before. So could Orient Express have a new home in michigan in the upcoming future

I think OE should be bought back by Arrow and refurbished as well as SW. Resale them.

They mentioned one of the reasons for OE's removal was very high maintenance costs. I don't see them moving it or spending money refurbishing it instead of putting the money into a new attraction. I'd love to see it at MiA, but I don't expect it.
