Actually a tunnel could be done, only above ground level (hello Magnum). If your not big on dive coasters though, then of course no one will be able to convince you otherwise, why waste the time?

But in my opinion, the last thing Cedar Point needs is another short, gimmick coaster. Their next coaster should be nothing less than wood. Like SFMM, their steel collection already feels redundant (although at least CP has stayed away from the mega-inversions).

It's such a breath of fresh air seeing a wooden coaster go up at SFGadv, and anything other than that will not entice me back to Cedar Point anytime soon.

I agree, I dont particularily think that this kind of ride would be the best fit for the park. Considering in early May and October nobody is going to want to ride a water ride anyway. I would be all for a new wooden coaster, that is what they need the most imo.

SheiKra is a sweet ride, its just so much fun. If you like B&M and drop rides you would love it.

This area around SheiKra is why I think a dive machine is perfect for that area.

I think I would rather see a super flume to rival Dudley's or Splash Mountain though.

I also think a GCI would be sweet back there. There is so much they can do with all that land they cleared! Its exciting to think about.

Didn't BGT get some kind of North American exclusivity on the Dive Machine?

Interesting to note, Cedar Fair did not get their trademark request approved for "The Patriot" at WoF... http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=76622482

How about a GG or GCI woodie intertwined with a Ripsaw Falls-esque flume ride. It would certainly make everyone happy.

Redman, that was because a coaster with that name already existed -- though it is going away so they might be able to try again.

Why not a water-coaster of some sort? Makes sense with the loss of the flume, but i'm not sure how "Maverick" fits it.

An answer for RavenTTD any park can build a dive machine just they can't have the same layout and features of SheiKra at BGT. Also BGT has a 2 year exclusive on the layout then any park can build same layout. I wish CP build a dive machine for its next coaster.

How do we know it wont be a Sally shoot-em up dark ride? The plot of land certainly has room for a LARGE dark ride. LOL! I am not saying it will be but we can all wonder what if. Also a building like that would be great for off season storage of ride parts.

And then just have another Disaster Transport-like building that everyone complains about?

I would love to see a B&M Dive Machine, but it has to be taller, faster, and a hell of a lot longer than Sheikra. Sheikra is a fun ride, but it is over so quickly.

I think a floorless would also be a great addition, especially if they are able to outdo Dominator.

How about a floorless dive machine? Why not?

A B&M flyer would be interesting, but I highly doubt it. The footprint seems too big for a flyer.

I wouldn't rule out a wooden coaster, but I wouldn't expect one either.

Whatever it is, I would expect it to take up a lot of the space there, seeing as the train tracks were moved back. They have the entire WWL location, the decently sized pond, and the area behind Thunder Canyon where the tubes are stored. I also wonder what's up with the Undertaker U building, because they could probably build another storage building anywhere else and relocate the haunted house.

No matter what happens, it looks like we're going to have an excited year.

I don't know how big of a footprint we're talking about, but have you seen Tatsu's footprint? It's huge!!!! *** Edited 2/7/2006 9:13:09 PM UTC by mudinthevayne***

Sorry TTD, I don't complain about the disaster transport building. Just the crappy ride inside of it!

A dualing Sally dark ride sounds good to me. More family time.

^^^A floorless wouldn't serve much point in my opinion. The last thing GL needs is someone to outdo one of their rides, especially if it's a sister park. What would CF gain by doing so?

That, and outdoing Dominator would take alot of effort. That ride's a beast and still quite possibly the most intense floorless I've been on, though I say Kraken beats it overall, lol. *** Edited 2/8/2006 2:31:38 AM UTC by sirloindude***

On the latest blog, Tony and Tyler say they won't answer requests for picture on the WWL site. So it seems there must be something happening there... ;)

I am curious what is going to happen with that site this season, my guess is a big wall with a promo for next years attraction.

Well, anyone have a pilots license? Just do a flyover the park and snap a few pics of the area.

I have a hunch this is going to be a dive machine. It just seems to have a "wow" factor without being overly intense like TTD. I also think a dive coaster would attract a wider audience than TTD, WT, and MF. And if it is a dive machine, it should go upside down a couple of times like Sheikra.

I guess a flyer would not be a bad addition either. I honestly could not see a mid-sized wooden coaster going to the Point. I could be wrong about that, but I just do not see how that is going to get anybody excited. Enthusiasts would like that, but I could not see CP doing that.

Ok, just for the record, CF stripped GL of the Haunt. Half the reason was because they didn't want to compete with CP's halloweekends. This was stated by CF themselves. So why would they put a ride in like a floorless or a flyer when that is GL's star attractions? I just don't see it happening. A dive machine yes, I do see happening because it is different enough from the other two ride types.
