Maverick

I'm convinced this is for Frontier Town in the space vacated by White Water landing. Maverick (aka the western TV show and more recent movie) fits perfectly.

The goal is to bring people to the back of the park, so although there are some who would prefer WWL to be replaced with something more family friendly, I can't see that happening. Especially since Cedar Creek Mine Ride will be right across from the new one.

As much as I'd love to see a hybrid woodie which would allow for a more diverse ridership in regard to height restrictions, wood apparently isn't CP's thing. Steel is.

If they want to put in something different, I can see a B&M floorless since they do not have one yet. They do not have a flyer yet. Both of those have taller height restrictions and would likely bring more of the thrillseekers to the back of the park.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

^ I thought the same thing about Frontier Town.

Well, they could always get a floorless or flying from Geauga Lake.

I'm thinking big and family oriented. Sort of like California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure. If you have ever been on it, it's huge! But it's not tall or fast, just a nice long fun ride.

But what do I know?

I hope Linda's wrong, but I suspect she's not. What I really liked about WWL was that my whole family could ride it together, because the height limit was "...or with responsible adult". CCMR wouldn't have fit that bill for any season we've attended so far (though it probably will this year.) CA Screamin' wouldn't fit that bill either, even if it didn't go upside down.

They don't have a big wooden coaster that is any good either and that is what I think will occur in 2007. The economy is very depressed in the area and I can't see CF leveraging profits and spending the money on a B&M. Yes I know it doesn't make sense with Mean Streak at the park, but that's my guess.

Geauga Lake is the one actually for me. I mean its been a while for the park to get a new thrill ride attraction there.

I can't see Geauga Lake getting anything big for a while. They did receive the new waterpark last year and new wavepool this year. Plus with the less than expected attendance numbers, I can see them taking a year or two off for major projects at GL.

Wow Skyhawk is going to chew up a lot of space in WWL site (its a swing so it has a wide area needed to be clear of other stuff.) I doubt they fit in a coaster in that area without removing the car ride too.

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

SkyHawk occupies a vacant peice of land next to Snake River Falls queue not White Water Landings plot of land.
Could it be the casino plans also that they talked about. Just throwing that out there. If i remember we pulled a thread on this a while back and merchandising for maybe a whole complex of rides and such, or whatever. That may work.

Although i tend to believe that what jeff said on pointbuzz makes sense that we will be happy with this whole maverick thing.

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

They shot down the bill to legalize gambling last year, so that's out.

Speculation about all possibilities is good when we have no idea of what is being installed. It will be nothing less than a coaster...let that be your scope of discussion.

I don't see it being a 500 foot B&M dive machine lol. I don't what for sure but I doubt it'll be a record breaker.
ANYTHING but a flyer and I'll be happy. :)

Hydra: The Revenge...sup
well, I'm not so sure it would be a record breaker, but how about a b&m dive machine. I mean, they are replacing it with WWL which is obvioulsy a water ride. So....and believe me this is just me pondering, what about a b&m dive machine with a splash landing, similar to Sheikra.
As I posted over at Pointbuzz...

I never understood why so many people want to jump on the B&M Dive Machine band wagon.

Back when it was first developed for Alton Towers I'll concede that it made sense. It was an effective way to get a train to go (nearly) vertical. Now, especially at Cedar Point, there is no reason for it as there are already 2 that do just that. Not only has the vertical drop already been done, but an underground tunnel is out of the question because of the water table.

I really don't see their novelty and I dare anyone to convince me otherwise.

Have you ridden SheiKra?

Did you read the rest of my argument on why it would be like beating a dead horse?
