Peppermint said:Actually the man flying to his death was six flag's fault because he was to large to ride and they let him ride anyways. And maybe the other two incidents wouldn't have happened if six flags actually maintained their rides better.
well you dont really see any other coaster types having these serious problems do you? the ops didn't take consideration into not letting the man ride, he had a serious illness and he knew he shouldntve gone on it. so thats not six flags fault. And if you think SF can't maintain their rides, then how come almost every other ride in the park runs just fine with no more than slightly minor breakdowns. But thats not the point, what I'm saying is that Intamin is the only company that ends up having major problems the most.
The question that remains is "what record?" Height? Speed? Length? Most coasters? Seems most people, including me at first, assumed the record[s] broken would be height, length, and/or speed. The more I think about it the more I'm lead to believe it is neither of those three.
Think about it: for MUCH less than the $25m cost of Kingda Ka SFMM could ad FOUR coasters, for a total of 20, and not have to worry about their closest competitors overtaking that record for some time.
IMHO the last think SFMM news is new coasters. They need flats, landscaping, paint...basically an extreme makeover.
Peabody said:Not quite. I've made 5 visits to SFOG, 3 to SFGAm, and 1 to SFMM in the last 3 years. Grand total I've seen a Deja Vu run.....0. And they're in their 5th season now.
Im thinking you have a real bad case of bad luck. The Deja Vu at SFGAm has been running very consistently for the past 2 seasons. And when it is closed, it's usually at the begining or end of the season during the weekdays when they don't have enough staff to run the thing. It's run everday they have had enough staff to run it this year so far...with very little downtime.
As I was standing in the loading station however, I watched as one of the trains launched, made a terrible racket, and appeared to shear rods of metal that shot out from either side of the track.
I would like to see the exact wording of that quote if anyone has a link.
It was spoken by the SFMM rep, not written anywhere. Sorry...no link possible.
And be thankful you're not going Saturday...PARK'S CLOSED!
"Six Flags Great Adventure will open Nitro, Batman The Ride and Stuntman's Freefall tomorrow, Friday June 10 at 9 a.m. for season passholders. However, Kingda Ka will not open tomorrow. We regret any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you at the park! "
Atleast they replaced the SP ERT on KK fridays.
But...what are they going to do with the thousands of pissed off people on Saturday who are not allowed into the park?

The thing to be celebrating if you're a CP-ite is that someone else is having the same problems TTD had. Therefore, all the whining about how much CP must suck because they can't keep TTD running and how much better KK would be is all proven absolutely moot. While it may not prove any park to be better than another, it shows that they're all in the same boat together. Now, if you're stupid enough to jump into a leaky lifeboat, well, that's your own damn fault.

I was hoping that they would get lucky and have a nice, relatively trouble free ride, but it looks like they got what many were expecting.
I said it before, and I'll say it again....why do I have a feeling that SF bought another one of these..maybe even bigger, before this one opened?
