Intamin track and supports arrive at Cedar Point

Posted | Contributed by WickedTwister44554

Intamin track sections, some red, some white, have arrived at Cedar Point and unloaded next to Mean Streak along Perimeter Road. A giant yellow support beam and several short tan supports have also arrived.

See the photos at Guide to The Point and Virtual Midway.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd have to imagine an official announcement is coming soon. And who said Cedar Point would never build two coasters in two years?

You'll be imagining for a long time...

I don't see any short tan supports?

I gotta ask this, is CP really doing that well to afford this ride? Or is this a silly question? :)

Sure sounds exciting! Lucky bastards. ;)

Hmmm, I see Cedar Point is trying to build the anticaption.

Dayuum, Your HOT!

Ugh... waiting for announcements is such a drag. Although, it would be nice to know how long a "long time" really is :). At this point, it would seem that they're waiting until after 9/11. Hopefully, it won't be too long after that.
Maybe this thing isn't opening this coming year at all. Perhaps it's the worlds largest coaster period and it'll take a year and a half to build. Height, Speed, Distance etc... Perhaps that what we won't like about it.

Well, someone said they poured footers for it on MF island & covered them up. I find that hard to believe & if it were true why didn't they just keep building it for 2 years if it was gonna be bigger than the Stratosphere Tower? :)

Drool!!!!

Of course I knew it was Intamin all along.....why wouldn't it be? Now the question is.......will it be one hydro launcher with three colors of track or three launchers, intertwined, with different elements (had a dream about the latter last night). A hydro launching triple..........yeeooowwza!!!!
It would, of course, have to have a kickass name. American Pride sounds nice but too tame. However, I can see that being used for a woodie.

HAHA! Intamin ROCKS!! Ok, needs to go back to sleep now.

I heard they were for the worlds tallest revolving dining room but I may be wrong but wouldn't that mean they would have to build it taller than the CN Tower (1800ft.). If they are building a revolving dining room, which I hope they are not, it wont be that high. they don't have billions to spend. I wish they did.

Hmmm. This is all very interesting! I cannot believe they are getting two coasters in two years! Is the SFWOA Hyper making them do this?

I am surprised it is Intamin. I thought they would get an Arrow Wild Mouse or an Inverted Boomerang sort of ride next.

Has anyone heard anything new about Cedar Fair's other parks? Worlds of Fun, Valley Fair and MI Adventures really need new coasters too.

I was at Cedar Point Yesterday and saw the Intamin Track, andI am pumpped to hear the official anouncement!
That really looks like a launched coaster tracks.
It also looks like it will be a themed coaster.

Like they say the bigger the better.
I'am sure everyone is going to be anticipating the specs on this coaster.

hey, doesn't that support kind of look familiar? If you look at it, and picture it standing, it looks like definately the one side of the traingled supports (aka Wicked Twister & Xcellerator supports) they have two straight pads for connecting another cross beam, and two pads pointing diagonally down, like on Wicked Twister's supports, does this make any sense?

I just looked at the pic's and i have a question.
Why does it look like it has actual rails on both sides of the track?

Is it true its always happy hour here? If it is I'd like to stay a while....

Every piece of rectangular Intamin track is built exactly the same way.

It kind of looks like that, but its just the sun, not wheel track.

The segments of Red track are for a bunny hop over the roof of a Stuckeys restaurant planned for the exit queue. After you ride, you can stroll through for on-ride photos and a breakfast special.

Remember, Stuckeys is still the official Pecan Roll of the park...

A cousin of a friend of a girlfriend of a guy who sweeps the area near the Dippin Dot's stand heard the food service people saying that it is just extra track for Wicked Twister. Next year it will FINALLY be completed and will be a full circuit track. The working slogan for the re-vamped coaster is "Look what happens when things get twisted and minds run rampant."

And doesn't the sign at Area 51 say "Building for the future?" Not "Building for 2003."
