HW Has reported!

Indiana Beach now has permission to build on the Fill land near Double Shot. They have also purchased some houses near the property.

Never say never when it comes to Tom Spackman and Tom Jr.

Bubbles, Strangely I've been able to watch the streaming video feed since about 1pm. Just not for more than ten seconds at a time durring the actual webcast.

It's a crime sometimes but I have the memory of a elephant when it comes to things I've heard, Read or seen that interest me. I can't remember exactly when but at some announcement , I believe it was for Liberty Launch and Halowswings or the SRM of the year of they debute. Will mentioned that Pat was dissapointed she did get her darkride.

The station took down the link to the streaming page but the holiblog direct link in the BRITS post still works. Check it out.

Chuck, who wonders if Pat knew she was on the whole 8 minutes before Will showed up.

Exotic Dancer :) Why not, She looks better than many women a quarter her age :)

Awe thanks Paula, As always, You were such a sporting *Bird* leading up to all this.

Three cheers for Paula for all her updates, clues, hints and diversions!

Hip Hip Horray!

Hip Hip HW.

Thud! IS HW Heaven on earth?
Chuck

I can honestly say this is the first time I can remember ever getting teary-eyed over a coaster. BUT I JUST DID! I knew from the past that HW would go big, and top themselves...but I did not expect anything like what I'm seeing. Not only a record-setting coaster, but a whole new section! I LOVE YOU KOCH'S!!!

Just one question though. On the new "Bahari River", am I right in thinking this will be like "Hubba Hubba Highway" at Water country USA? I hope so, cause I loved that ride last week.

Anyway, thank you Holiday World...you just made my year!

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah
I am so excited that I am already counting the days until May. I was already going to go to HW next year and now I may make it a two or three day trip instead of one. Birmingham to Louisville on Southwest $34.00. Rental car for several days $100.00. A ride on the voyage-priceless.

Thanks Paula for filling the last several weeks with anticipation and excitement. *** Edited 7/14/2005 12:08:03 AM UTC by Steve Perry***

People seem to forget, Will doesn't just take suggestions on WHAT TO INCLUDE, He actually has toured and ridden THE BEST OF THE BEST or the best elements of other coasters and has included them in his own.

I consider him a designer even if he isn't schooled in the art. The TGG guys are more than willing to work with him to see if it can or can't be done and how to do it best.

That fan curve over the lake on Raven? Yup, from the defunct Hercules. That wiggly hill near the ending of Raven? A save a tree moment :)! The Insane Latterals of Legend? Yup, Beast was a factor. The use of Woods and terrain are both natural to HW and taken from a variety of coasters past and present.

What you end up with is three of the most intense yet thrilling and totally rideable coasters. No wonder they may be ranked 10-5-1 next year :) and the 10 is a easy #1 for me everytime I ride it :)

To many smilies for one day.
Thanks again HW
Chuck, whos gonna take a night off, go back to work and then spend 8 months anticipating the improvements.

That flat section of the track where a mid-course brake does seem pretty odd since there is no actual brake there in the animation. I wonder if they are going to first see if they need the midcourse brake. It looks like their brake runs at the end of the ride are long enough for all 3 trains to stack if need be.

Or maybe they are leaving out just one more surprise. Maybe that section of the track with actually be trick-track. I can hope can't I?

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

If they're going to run three trains, I imagine they'd have to put a mid-course there, especially with the ride being so long. I don't see any other way they could hit those capacity numbers.

That's perfectly acceptable, just as long as they don't use it as a trim as well.

There will probably be a block there but I doubt it will be used unless the first pre brake isn't cleared.

I honestly believe that by the time a train clears the lifthill, The next train will be ready for disspatch.

lol Windows wants to update.
Does it have a unload station? It could run like MF. Well, like MF used to, before SF destroyed the Intamin coaster.

Precisely my thought Chuck. Based on the video, it looks like The Voyage was designed with an extra block at the end of the ride to accommodate three train operation (much like Magnum). That's why the mid-course section puzzles me. Better extra-safe than sorry? I suppose we'll all know next year!

Rich G

2006 CANNOT come soon enough....

PS) Paula, how much is does the average house in Santa Clause cost? I might be in the market to buy before 2006 comes, and also, do you guys have "Life Passes", cause I'm willing to pay! lol

On a real note though, Holiday World has exceded what I thought they could and would do, and they get a 100 out of 10 in my book...

I was just hoping for more than just 1 rollercoaster and 1 (maybe 2) flats in the new section. I figured 1 coaster and at least 4 or 5 flat rides.

But we have to save something for 2007, 2008, ect! Do I hear "Powederkeg" anyone?

Landon Parks Holiday World Fan (HWF) from Bloomington, Indiana.
I mentioned earlier in that other post, 13.5 million in HW's hands is better than 25 million to many parks.

Im also not saying those other parks didn't try to do a top notch attractster but pushing the limits isn't always the right Beast to choose.

Chuck

I was going to post something like, "OMGosh! Tihs r0x0rs teh big one1111" or something like that.

I was going to type up something in all-CAPS EXPRESSING MY EXCITEMENT.

That is, until the drool shorted out my keyboard, and I had to go buy another one :)

All I can say, simply, is that I continue to be in awe of that park in Santa Claus, Indiana. Thank you, and see you next year!

.

Oh, and my friends from the United Human Interface Manufacturers Local 6442 thank you for your support.

What day is opening day for 2006? I'm soooo there!

Thank you Holiday World!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
There is nothing about this announcment I don't love. The rollercoaster is perfect. I am glad there are some parks that know how to build a rollercoaster. They have a dark ride which is normally not my cup of tea, but I get to shoot turkeys which is all good. I think I will name some of the turkeys after some of the people here to make it even more fun. They are getting Thanksgiving land which is good because next time I am at a family Thanksgiving supper and they want to go around the room and ask everyone what they are thankful for, I will remember to say Voyage. And they are getting a lazy river in SS (or an action river, I am not sure if that is lazy or not) but all I know it is a good way to keep other people out of the line for Voyage and I am thankful for that too. Props to HW. Now I need to go send them a gift basket or something.
Ah Shaggy you must mean Guntown Mountain!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Count me as one who wishes Shaggy would just let Holiday World have the spotlight for ONE day without worrying about what ANY other park is building. No more "teases" today please. Some others might not be teased, only annoyed. On a day like today, Holiday World is the ONLY park in the world.
Maybe Paula could post a copy the power point presentation that they used today?
