HW Has reported!

Voyage will have the wood recored for air time, but what steel coaster has the most air time?
What I am wondering is who is designing/building the dark ride? PLEASE say Sally Corp? Also not much was said about the waterslide being reworked? I am sure we got it right on here .. some structural so people can go under it to reach the new Thanksgiving area... Someone has already mentioned it but those turkey legs are something that people around here are accustomed to eating at the evansville fall festival so I was thinking the same thing... they need to sell those in the Thanksgiving area concessions!! Cool, Now I am anxious to get my season pass for next year and see how much they go up in price!!

Ahem! Not everyone. I could have sworn I heard Pat mention she wanted a carousel for the park. Oh well ;)

Well, in 2006 it will be central to 3 new coasters.... Beech Bend, HW and..... oh.... I'll let it simmer for a bit.... ;-)

Various people guessed PKI, SFKK, and WoF...and completely overlooked Indiana Beach! That's certainly a possibility.

I just got back from the park- you should have heard everyone in the auditorium, literally screaming as they revealed the pics and stats! Somehow, even after all the hype, they've managed to exceed expectations. Not only a rediculously awesome coaster(would have still exceeded alone) but a dark ride, a new "adventure" river, all in a new holiday section. I'm completely amazed they're getting all this for 13.5 million! The Voyage is only going to cost them a bit over 6 million...! And its very likely to be one of the best(if not THE best), original and exciting wooden coasters out there... and simply being one of the largest/longest! I don't claim to know much about the accounting side of the amusement industry, but when you look at the simple figures for other parks it just seems that HW manages to squeeze so much more(and quality!) stuff out of their budget.

I simply could not be happier.. congratulations Paula and co... do something relaxing for yourself after this crazy day is over. :)

P.S. Was it just the leftover excitement or was the Legend running extremely fast today?

Indiana Beach don't have any room for another coaster... lol

WAY TO GO HW! I was hoping for a "Powderkeg", but what more could I have asked for than another world record breaking coaster?

Im beginning to wonder if Holiday World can ever gone wrong with there choice? Some theme parks have, but Holiday World seems to hit the nail on the head everytime!

Thanks Paula, and everyone else who actually made this announcment better than it could have been by itself! Coasterbuzz rules!

Did anyone record the announcment while they where there? Or know where I can get a downloadable copy? Cause when I went to watch the live feed, I got 2 seconds of video and 30 seconds of "Loading....", then another 2 seconds of video. Finally I clicked it off, and tried to re-open it and just kept getting "This page cannot be displayed" warnings!

I wanted to see the announcment so bad, I even got up early for it (which if you know me, is not something I do very often on my days off!) *** Edited 7/13/2005 9:28:05 PM UTC by Landon***

Didnt they just buy a couple neighboring homes? I bet they do have room for another coaster. Where there is a will there is a way. Who would have thought that they have room for 5 as it is?!

Does anybody know the location of the new themed area?

I am hoping to see the artist rendering of the layout of the park with the new section/attractions that they used at the announcement.

I have not seen it online yet, perhaps I have missed it. But I am very much intrigued as to how the new section/coaster will fit in to the current park layout.

For those of you whop didnt see the announcment live, It's still playing here: http://www.news25.us/Global/story.asp?S=3586037

I take it that it was archived, so for those missed it (or those who where tired of seeing 2 seconds of video then 30 seconds of "loading", it's still up.

I only sat through about 1 minute of it so fare, but if that much is still up, I take it the rest is too.

Thank goodness...

PS) We still love you Paula, even though you told us it was not going to be archived.

NOTE::: Please DO NOT overload the news25 server again! Everyone take there time to watch it if you have not already, so that we dont have the 10,000 coaster lovers try to hog it at the same time again, or we may have the same problem as when the announcment was made (I take its its still being "Streamed", and not downloaded. *** Edited 7/13/2005 10:13:27 PM UTC by Landon***

There are a few images that were shown that didn't make it onto the website including an overhead map of the new Thanksgiving section. I ripped a few screenshots from the video I shot so they aren't as good as a still shot would have been(I'm sure someone else took some) but since someone asked where exactly this stuff is going-

www.str8krooked.com/HW/HW06map1.jpg
www.str8krooked.com/HW/HW06map2.jpg
www.str8krooked.com/HW/HW06map3.jpg

You can see where the new paths are going and where they link up with the existing pathways. Someone asked where the Bahari river will be exactly, but it's sortof off the map they showed. I do remember Will saying it would go "around" Bahari, but I think he mean by it since that would require ripping up all that brand new imprinted concrete walkway.

I tried counting the drops from the pictures and it looks like the Voyage will have about 25 drops throughout the ride. That is insane! Millennium Force only has 8 drops.
This looks like it may be able to take my #1 wooden spot away from the tied Raven and Screechin' Eagle.
You know whats funny? My wife doesn't know what our vacation plans are for next year. (I made em while looking at the pics on HW's website) I am sure glad she loves Holiday World.

I smell a road trip next summer and its not Florida!

If I work this out right we will be hitting Holiday World 2 years in a row!

I didn't know there would be 2 paths into Thanksgiving...

I think it would be cool if they used the new on ride video system like what PKD is doing and what other parks in Europe are doing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go here: http://www.xtremex3.com/thrill.html There is another company based in Europe that does it too. I just can't find the link that used to be on screamscape about it.
Mr. Bubbles, You rule.

Thanks for showing me that we're going to be diving under a Walkway, which is just the coolest thing ever.

Edit-You can clearly see the new action river above the wave in the first picture. *** Edited 7/13/2005 10:54:20 PM UTC by thepinkdoomofmonkeys***

Im guessing THE GRAVY is the hint everyone was missing and just taking as a added topping but not holiday hint?

Nope ... there's one hint no one caught. I'll stick it on the HoliBlog one of these days.

All I could think of was stew and gravy when I saw the words "Thanksgiving." hehe

It wasn't. Till you all broke it! :)

I asked the engineer how many people would have had to log on for it to crash ... he said 40,000.

So they told us they'd archive it so that people who missed it earlier could still see it.

The link is on the HoliBlog ... actually two links.
