If given the choice I'd choose a hamburger over a hotdog anyday of the week.
But, back to the main point in my first post, the MOST a park could (should?) really do is go to designated smoking areas....Universal certainly does look and smell MUCH cleaner for having them....

You know, everyone was concerned that banning smoking from restaurants was really going to hurt business. But it didnt. Smoking is seriously on the decline and I would love to see more and more places do what they can to prevent smoking.
How about you ask bar owners in NYC that question? I think they will have a vastly different opinion.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.
I do note how ironic it is that SOME of these same people who want to ban tobacco everywhere want to legalize marijuana.

There's quite a difference between the two, namely one being nonadictive and a great deal less harmful.

As for second hand smoke, yes, it can be harmful if one is subjected to it in an enclosed area for long periods of time. Out in the open when it freely disperses quickly, I don't think so. How many people sit in front of a bonfire and inhale THAT smoke?
Again, smoking in queues or in unauthorized areas, even smoking in an area with a lot of kids should not be allowed. But banning smoking in an amusement park entirely wouldn't make most smokers quit smoking, it would just make them quit going to parks.

CPLady, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Thanks for clearing me up regarding what perfumes can do physically. However, I don't think that makes the point that cigarette smoke is an allergen that can and should be controlled any less valid. That's not to say the same of perfume shouldn't be true.

Do I think it should be legal? Absolutely. Will I ever do it again? Hell no.
You want more proof than that?

In any case, this point is irrelevant, even moreso on a site like Coasterbuzz. If you reread the post I made where I quoted, I believe, Magnum Force I simply stated my opinion as to why some would limit smoking in public places and try to legalize marijuana. I stand by my statement that it's less addictive and less harmful than traditional smoking. Am I right? I could point out dozens of studies that would support me. Are you right? You could point out dozens of studies that support you. It's a question up in the air, scientifically speaking, so I can only speak from my experiences. Yours may differ.

As for on the midways, I've never had a problem with being overwhelmed or smelling like smoke. I don't smoke but I like the smell of it.
