Holiday World should ban smoking

Honest to pete. Smoking in the midways where smoke DISPERSES into the air is NOT considered "second hand smoke". Unless you are standing in the middle or next to several people smoking, there is plenty of fresh air available.

Second hand smoke is when you are cooped up in a non-ventilated area and breathing the smoke over and over again. THAT is why businesses no longer allow smoking in buildings, offices, movie theatres.

Now I have a question for all of you who think that I should move if I have a problem. What would you guys do if I sprayed some hair spray while on the midway, and it blew onto you (just like your second hand smokes does to me). Would you be mad because you breathed it in, and got on your skin and clothes, thus making it smell like fruit (or whatever smell it was of)?

Yea, but I wouldnt cry about it. People do things every day that directly affect me. I got cut off the other day on my way to work, had to slam on my breaks. Some bad driver directly put me in danger, and I got angry. But ya know what, thats life, get used to it. If it bothers you that much, don't go to the park untill they put a ban on smoking and enforce it.

Patrick, thats whay I'm trying to get at. We should be considerate of others. By you saying that you got mad, you are saying that you are hypocritical. I try my best not to cause others disconfort, as I expect others to do the same. Also, I get over it when someone lights up near me, but there shouldn't be something that I have to be even conserned with (note that thats what I'm manily "upset" over, along with some one smoking who passes my on the midway and I have to walk in their smoke or move). BTW CPlady, in general on the midway smoke does disperse into the air, but when the person who is smoking is close to you, you still get second hand smoke (as any time you smell smoke you are getting second hand smoke).

Mark,

You missed my point. When I said I get mad when people are inconsiderate, what I was trying to say is that its nothing to complain about. Sure, everyone should be more considerate. The world would be a better place. Problem is, thats not how things are, and its best to just deal with those types of people. Don't target something like smoking when the only problem is a some inconsiderate people, target inconsiderate people if anything.

Id love for smoking to be ban from all parks, nothing makes me more mad then walking around the park having a good time and some person blows smoke right in your face. I know that it is impossible to ban smoking from parks but i do wish there were areas where smoking is aloud off to the side of the walkways so when im walking around im not getting smoke blew in my face all the time
I am targeting inconsiderate people, as thats who people are who smoke around some non-smokers. The only reason why I even brought this up was because someone in this thread said something like "why should I have to move when they have the problem" and this is a thread about smoking, not bad B.O. or bouncing basket balls or what not. If you would have read my posts carefully, you can see that I don't have a prolem with people smoking, as long as they are not doing it where its aginst the rules or if they start doing it after entering my area (you know, everone's own personal space).

I love the idea about the designated smoking areas. It is my right to be able to breath in fresh air, and it is others to pollute there air. So, with that said......it would please everyone if parks imposed a smoking (polluted)area for the people that do not care about there health, and the rest of the park would be smoke free/healthy air.
Okay, so we are on the same page. Is there any way to rename this thread "Holiday World should ban inconsiderate people from smoking"? Or better yet, "Holiday World should ban inconsiderate people".

SFGAm is horrible about the smoking. And being an asthmatic, I become very ill when I am forced to inhale cigarette smoke, and when I politely ask someone to refrain from smoking in the queue, they rarely do. Therefore, I wholly support isolated smoking areas and then a general ban in the park.

Imagine it this way-a person walks into the park with highly contagious leprosy (this is an exaggerated example). In the queue line, despite there being a sign that says "lepers, please do not touch the healthy guests", the leper decides to hug everyone in the queue without their consent. Would that make YOU feel good?

Once again, this is exaggerated, but is a syllogism for cigarette smoke. If I'm not doing it to myself, I shouldn't have to involuntarily be forced to do it.

Welcome to Six Flags Great America, home of the fastlane and delay-ja vu! We have now officially been deemed the world-wide wait!

Since Holiday World provides free sunscreen I guess you can say they don't want you to get skin cancer but don't mind if you get lung cancer.
Fiend: At least one of the smokers posting here has already expressed the opinion that my asthmatic daughter should just stay home since their smoking in queues injures her. Shows you the mentality of some smokers.
By George, I've got it. Holiday World should put "The Patch" dispensers next to the sunscreen.
Come on people. The smokers are working hard to kill themselves as quickly as possible. What more could you possibly want from them? Appreciate the sacrafice they're making to reduce your wait times in future queues.

I wouldn't mind hair spray being sprayed on me as long as it's that Aussie Mega-Style stuff that smells like grapes. That stuff smells great. Reminds me of new wave girls in high school with spiked hair.

Also, I really don't mind if they stop serving peanuts in planes. British Airways has these Honey Mustard Pretzels that are great. I can never find the same ones in the stores, though. Rold Golds are okay, but they're no BA Pretzels.
