Hershey Teasing 2008 Attraction

I think intamin could build a maverick-style ride with a 90-degree lift hill, but that isn't a traditional lift.

By vertical he might mean near vertical.

Yup. Maverick has Magnetic Breaks
Again if its going to be similar to maverick I think it going to be a redundant coaster. Just another storm runner with a lift hill somewhere in the mix. Maybe they won't add a launch in the mix and just focus on the 95 degree drop. Hope they can integrate a heart line roll safely in this design. Either way this will be a good fit for Hershey. Intamin's terrain coasters would fit nice with hershey because the park has nice a nice terrain. Plus I can't wait to feel that air time that Maverick has received rave reviews about.

One would think that they would use the western shoot-out area for the next water park expansion since there is alread a water source there..........

Wait, no one is killing anyone at HP (well, not yet anyway). It's Chute Out.

Yeah the wait is killing me.

There's no way a maverick would fit.... to put a coaster like that in they would have to either go into the employee parking lots, destroy the catering areas, or destroy the new boardwalk entrance.... none of which they would do. I could believe an Intamin Free Fall...big drop, magnetic brakes, and....oh yeah... it would FIT!

10 refers to the number of current coasters at HP. This would make 11. How does he get 10, I hear you ask. The Racer is counted as two separate coasters. Look at the promo material for the last few years and do the math.

You don't have to count LR twice...

1. Comet, 2. Looper, 3. Great Bear, 4. Trailblazer, 5. Storm Runner, 6. Sidewinder, 7. Roller Soaker, 8. Wildcat, 9. Wildmouse, 10. Lightning Racer.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
Hey I originally said Maverick as well ;)

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Jon EntGuy I think there is definitely a way for a maverick type coaster to fit. If coasters like Great Bear and Storm runner can fit than trust me they can fit a coaster in the park. Hershey park proves over and over that all they need is room for a station and anything is possible. Most of their steel coasters run above walk ways, trees, and maneuver in out of other rides. Plus stations can be elevated so that as the train pulls out the track is high enough to stand over other obstacles. I really do believe it will be a custom Intamin terrain coaster. At leasts that sounds most likely due to the hints.

Plus as few have said in this thread. Most other ride would sort of just be a repeat gimmick. A dive coaster doesn't make sense to be because storm runner has the vertical (90 degree) drop. A ten inversion coaster just adds inversions which you can get on many other rides in the park. So a ride like similar to maverick can at least try and promote a gimmick which is can attract different attention that what storm runner gets and that would be its beyond vertical 95 degree drop. *** Edited 8/22/2007 2:27:39 AM UTC by VaRyda***

At this point I'm thinking everyone is right on the money with a Maverick type coaster. If it is I won't be disapointed because I won't get the chance to ride Maverick for awhile but I also think it will be rather redundant. Personaly I agree with VaRyda on this one though. When Hershey adds a coaster your always in for a completly unique layout due to space restrictions so I think it would fit. On another note what about a coaster like Furious Baco without the launch. It would have to hug the ground though which might be difficult but its just a suggestion. What's everyone think?
More information from a workerr! The Worker told me that her boss swore up and down they're moving mouse where the old western shoots are and putting in more slides where mouse was. and putting a lazy river where rapids is. so basically the same as before but they are taking out the river rapids.
THey can put a coaster anywhere
just look at Indiana Beach and Moreys Piers

I do hope it uses some of the terrain and maybe Hershey will make it unique one of a kind like it did with Storm Runner

Hmmm... Hershey has me stumped. Hopefully I'll be able to get some construction pics like I did for Storm Runner. ;)

Then get out there theres already evidence out there EG markers.

OP Awesome: I think a combination of a maverick style ride with the use of the winged trains as used on Furious Baco would be a great combo (of course both without the launch to stick with not being a redundant ride scheme but if it did incorporate a launch I have no hard feelings). Anyways that would be sick a 95 degree drop on the winged trains however I hear from reviews on Furious Baco (FB) that the FB trains are quite rough with the outer-most seats so hopefully Intamin can tweak that and also incorperate the heartline role as originally in the maverick layout.

Comet Rider: Do you have any more little hints on the trains or any other gimmicks for the ride besides the 95 degree drop?

A Maverick type coaster seems to be assumption by everyone and Comet Rider seems to be leading everyone that way aswell.....sounds like a great addition to a great line up of coasters already there cant wait for 08!! ....to bad kennywood doesn't do something like this soon :(
Ok I have been doing some thinking and I have to add something more that I overlooked. That is the zac spin as some other have been talking about as well. While it does not have the exact same trains as storm runner it has the same restraints.http://cache.rcdb.com/pictures/picmax/p20078.jpg In addition although I don't the exact spec... The last drop on the current zac spin models is probably close to if not 95 degrees. http://cache.rcdb.com/pictures/picmax/p19140.jpg

This just a little more additional speculation but regardless the hints point heavily towards the Intamin terrain coaster like maverick and I'mmore convinced of that possibility more than anything at the current point in time.

i've lost faith in humanity, j/k
