Hershey Teasing 2008 Attraction

Well the locations listed above cetainly point to a multi-inversion coaster. But like ColumbusCoaster said, they have traditional lifts.

Unless they're building some weird vertical lift system for a multi-looper - then some info is incorrect.

Edit: Regarding the post ^ this one - that's exactly why I'm asking so many questions. Comet Rider has been dead on about a lot of Hershey stuff over the years... *** Edited 8/20/2007 6:08:12 PM UTC by MHammer82***

Vertical lift?

They're buying Conneaut Lake's SBNO Chance Toboggan!?

You've been paying attention... ;)

I was at Hersheypark this weekend, and there is a big countdown sign on Chute-Out. Also, there are spraypainted markings for footers on the ground in that area. It looks like a coaster to me, and it looks like Chute-Out will definitely go.
Well, Hershey did use to have two Chance Toboggans.
I am sure another GCI wouldnt be too bad, but I dont think I would mind having a 10 plus inversion coaster in the states, even though its mostly a gimmick, as long as its not the vekoma model, except speaking of vekoma what about their tilt lift coaster? I dont think they have built on yet but I think it would pretty tight.

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

Do mean a Vekoma Tilt Coaster

I guess a tilt coaster would be possible but if it's an Intamin I'd say it has to be a looper. I think a looper is too close to Storm Runner though honestly.
I always wanted to see a Tilt Coaster built in the US. I feel like if any park is trying to combat the now notorious dive coaster. The tilt coaster would be the best counter. I absolutely could just sit back and watch the tilt coaster run its cycle for hours. It would be such a cool gimmick for HP to market. (If another is build I just hope Vekoma does their homework on their coaster trains to make it a smooth ride).

Anyways based on the rumors from Comet Rider. The one line about the same trains does nothing but point it to another maverick type coaster. I mean I'm sure that Intamin could make a vertical lift using the LSM technology they use on Maverick's lift. Moreover, even if he meant to really say traditional lift. A Maverick type coaster seems the closest. If thats true I must say that this would not add to any new ride experience in my opinion. It would just seem like storm runner with a lift hill somewhere in the mix because everything else down the trains and restraints (besides layout) would be the same. What does anyone thing about the possibility of it being a ride similar to Wicked which was built this year? OR what about a themed Euro-Fighter like Mystery Mine?

Also I think that a 10 inversion coaster is not too far-fetched. I mean even though the park has a good deal of coasters with inversions, HP has an equal balance of non -loopers and loopers if you count both sides of Lightning Racer.

Above all the ideas I have... I wish to see an aqua trax but of course that what I hope for anytime I hear that Intamin involved in building a new ride! But this is definitely unlikely.

I regretfully remember those. Not one, but two, Chance Toboggans side by side on the right side of Carrousel Circle as you entered. And borrow to quote Mimi on the Drew Carrey show... "So much crap they had to start a second pile."

The new attraction is coming for 08 and it will cost at an estimate of 12.1 million. Tell you guys more later. I want you to ponder on that before i give you the link to the article i found this on.

^ 12.1 million? Okay... its a really BIG Chance Toboggan.

I'm hoping for one of the following:
An intamin roller (maybe a maverick type of thing or a hyper/giga
or maybe a collosus ten inversion type of thing)
A bolliger-mallibard flying
A bolliger mallibard floorless
A screaming squirrel
A 4D

but I'm probably wrong.

By 'perfect 10' I assumed they were referring to the parks 10 roller coasters or possibly a roller coaster with 11 inversions to be an 11th.

The article Sheikrafanatic is referring to is a "press release" from Nantimi, Inc. whose name, you may notice, is an anagram for Intamin.

Yeah, that site looks legit. <rolls eyes>

Well considering Maverick cost 21 million.........
I personally hope that its not a 10 inversion coaster. Those kind of coasters do not have pacing, and that kind of extreme ride (inversion after inversion) would not be a good fit at hershey.

One would think that they would use the western shoot-out area for the next water park expansion since there is alread a water source there..........in fact, that is really where boardwalk should have been built......expanded into the parking lot, instead of crammed into where it is now.

The have a Intamin looper with a vertical launch. Any other intamin coaster with inversions is going to be redundant to storm runner at this point.

Wait do you mean it is an intamin or it isn't?

Perhaps he's trying to mis-lead us with the Intamin info...I'm thinking Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter myself...

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Thats it I figured it out if its an intamin its gonna be like maverick and if its not its either a euro-fighter or a dive coaster.
