Edit.. To add to that, I barely use the email address that I used to register with this site. Signing up here is the only time I've ever given that email to anything.

I got one as well, Jeff. I just deleated it. I got a Penis Enlargement one too, not that I need one.....
Who will say otherwise? Peck is in your name ;)
I take it nobody here uses some of the spam tracing techniques like using a new e-mail address at a domain for everything you sign up for. I've been using spammotel for a while now, but unfortunately I didn't do that here. Something like that, though, would have made it easy to trace exactly where they got the address from.
Suffice it to say, I never signed up for ThrillRide, but I am signed up on ThrillNetwork, with a spammotel address. They sent it to the address I signed up with here, though it is also the address I use for RRC (which, IMHO, is an even more likely target for e-mail scraping.)

As for this site... I wouldn't be surprised if anyone gets spam anyway because of how it publicly publishes e-mail addresses. No wonder why you all need penis enlargement pill advertisements in your e-mails (cuz that spammer got smart and spidered this site for them).
Oh well, good luck on your TN witch hunt. Make sure you get Ride World, URC, and the others!

true, i just was wondering about the DB file because if you recall a few weeks ago when Jeff was in vegas the site had some errors as the drive reached full capacity. when it did so there were a number of errors, and in those errors was some information about the server, etc. i was thinking maybe something in there was useful to someone allowing them to access or figure out where the DB file was.
if thats the case a simple query could have been written to extract all email addresses from the DB. then all you need is a spam mailer that you can find on google, copy & paste it and do a mass spam to each account.
i hope that made sense i just woke up after 4 hours of sleep :(

Like I said, e-mail harvesting is easy. Do a search for it on Google, you'll get plenty of info. You can probably find something to download and do it yourself if you really want to.
If you want to avoid it, hide your profile as previously described.

I just to let everyone know, RideWorld has nothing to do with ThrillNetwork, and it never had anything to do with TrillNetwork. There are only two things that associate the sites together in any way. One, they are booth sites about roller coasters, and two, they booth have stemmed off ThrillRide (but RideWorld formed off a ThrillRide that was completely new and started a considerable time after Thrillnetwork formed off the old Thrillnetwork).

This list was one that was compiled from all the major coaster sites...
That 100% constitutes spamming. Let's see if their ISP responds...
