DDR bug has hit hard

I like the idea that I can be good at something that the 9-foot freaks aren't. ;)

I don't think a 9-foot freak could even play DDR - he'd bump his head on the ceiling.

ba-dum chhhh. I'll be here all week.

Rolla coasta lova, and a DDR maniac

Welp - I posted to this thread last November when I was stuck at work late at night on Election Day, so I might as well do it again now.

Only this time, no DDR afterwards - just going home to sleep. Two 13-hour days in a row sucks.

Must keep thread going.

I'm getting into "True..." now. The jump-step/gallop combos at the beginning and the long gallop section at the end keep things interesting (not to mention the FMV!).

I've been working pretty heavily on "Healing Vision Angelic Mix" heavy but haven't passed it yet. The turns are just so hard at that speed so I've been double-stepping the whole thing. I haven't even made it to the stop yet, but I'm doing better than I was when I tried turning. Who can pass it, and do you turn a lot or double-step?

Last night, a kid who could do pretty much any heavy song in singles was amazed that I could do Paranoia Evolution in doubles light mode. What's up with that? I don't get the lack of ability (or more likely trying) with doubles.

To add to the drama that is Midway Mall DDR, we've got a 6th (Max) again. The order of the mixes at Midway has gone: 1, 7, 1, 6, 1, 6... all within the past 2 weeks.

I will have to give doubles another shot at the arcade. I have tried it just once there, many times at home. But it's weird at home, going back and forth between a metal pad and a soft pad. Plus, the soft pad slides away from the metal pad - it's annoying.

Michael - 6th mix.. sorry. That has like 40 songs on it, if that. That's the machine I learned on, and even when I first started I was bored for lack of good songs.

Even the home version has 70 songs! ;) Speaking of which, I really hope that Max2 for PS2 really loads up on the songs. I need some more familiar tracks so I don't look like a tool doing only the home songs at the arcade.

Ha - when I first started on DDRMAX2, I played Konamix songs only... b4U, Wild Rush and Absolute every time. :)

If MAX2 home version has Maxx Unlimited, Tsugaru, Burning Heat, Nori Nori Nori, Waka Laka and Breakdown, I'll be really happy. If it has some good stuff from Extreme, like Cartoon Heroes, Ska a Go Go, 321 Stars, A or Paranoia Survivor, I'll be ecstatic.

I played DDR Extreme in the arcade for the first time today, and I enjoyed it. The Mountasia around the corner from me just upgraded their MAX2 to Extreme, less than a month after we lost the MAX2 around the other corner.

Anyways, $1.00 for 3 songs is pretty steep ($2.00 for doubles) so I only played once on singles and once on doubles. I started really getting into doubles about a week ago, and I can already do some 7-footers. "A" is almost without a doubt my favorite new song, despite the fact I haven't played some of them. I was able to pass "A" (with a D!) on Doubles Maniac, which is extremely fun. Den, I find doubles much more fun than single, just a little harsh on the wallet at this place. I'll probably try to get back to Mountasia on Tuesday: all you can play mini golf and arcade all day for $10.00.

Also, I think a 9-foot freak would do extremely well at Doubles DDR...he'd even have an extra foot for choosing the songs! ;)

Heh... I most certainly hope that MAX2 for PS2 has much more songs than MAX. When I went over my friends house to play, I was absolutely disappointed that MAX didn't have any of the arcade songs I play. It didn't even have the original Dynamite Rave!

Healing Vision Angelic Mix, MaxX Unlimited, and V... that's not too much to ask, is it? ;)

------------------
Tommy Penner - YoYoBebeMan

M-rider: MAX already has Healing Vision Angelic Mix. The only thing that disappointed me about MAX is that it *did* contain several repeats from Konamix - Era, Japan, Baby Baby Gimme Your Love, the original Healing Vision, Look to the Sky, Holic, Let the Beat Hit 'Em... Since probably almost everyone who bought MAX also has Konamix, they could have put new songs in place of those songs.

The new mix of Dynamite Rave - I'm not a big fan of it. The song is OK, but the steps are teh l@m3r5 compared to the original.

astrosgp - LOL!

I can't believe I'm resorting to double-posting. C'mon people! ;)

I got Drop the Bomb SF System Mix last night, finally. Actually, my wife got it. It's pretty cool, but really easy. So, since my memory card died right after 200 songs last time, that means I've cleared 700 songs since Dec. 27. Not bad... just wish I could clear HV:AM... got to the stop yesterday, but it screwed me up even though I knew it was coming...

*just played DDR wearing boots* ok...u guys....don't make this mistake. ^^;

DDR and boots DO NOT mix...i had to learn that the hard way lol

I just got Drop the Bomb as well, playing doubles. It's easy as can be in light mode, single and double. I think that leaves one more song. What is it again?

Nope, that's it. If you look in the information section, you'll see it now says, "All songs unlocked."

DTB is even easy in heavy mode. I think it's a 7-footer, but it only has a few 16th notes and the rest is pretty straightforward.

I went in there when I got it and the only thing "new" was the notice for Drop the Bomb. I could've swarn there was a gap in the "unlocked song #" list too.
