DDR bug has hit hard

It works with a PS1 card, thats how I do it.

However it wont work with a PS2 card, unless I am doing something wrong.

I think you can move data from the PSOne card to a PS2 card, but you cant actually use a PSOne card and save data on it when it is in the PS2.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Actually neither response makes sense... so you can insert the PSone card and move the data from it onto a PS2 card?

My addiction started in May when my son got DDR and played during his 16th birthday party. I played off and on through the summer, but kicked it up a notch once CP closed and the weather turned. I do it primarily for the aerobic workout. I'll never be as good as the youngsters, but I've improved enough to be able to ace some of the difficult lights, and the 3-4 ft standards.

Den, I have no idea if you can move it, I just know it will not save outright on a PS2 card.

I do know it saves just fine if you use a PS1 card in the PS2.

I have never tried this but I don't think it will work. PS1 blocks can't be saved to a PS2 memory card if I am not mistaken. I have a PS1 card I use just for Konamix and the first DDR , and a PS2 card for all my other games.

Question for everyone: Are other malls around the US bringing more DDR Machines out?? DDRFreaks.com says we have 49 machines here in NY, but the versions they list arent the only ones in these locations. Maybe its just for XMas (or because the lines were so long), but we now have 4 DDR Machines out in the lower level of Crossgates mall in the Hoyts Theater Arcade, and 2 in the upstairs arcade. Downstairs also has another type of game where you have to use your hands...very similar to DDR.

PS Memory Cards: PS1 blocks cant be transfered to the PS2 card. But that wont be a problem much longer, as the PS2 HDD will be available soon so we can just save to that :)

John... if you know any locations where you can play DDR that aren't listed at DDRFreak, go submit it! (Unless you want to keep the location secret and to yourself, selfish bastard ;)jk)

The only other location that ive seen a DDR machine that isnt listed is at The Great Escape in lake george, ny. they put it in at the end of the season.

but there may be another new one upstate soon. Some kids at my college have a petition to bring a DDR machine to our campus's arcade. while id really enjoy that...well my grades would just suffer cause id spend all my time *and money* there lol

Calvin - the hands game you're talking about is ParaParaParadise... very weird. I would love to play it but there isn't one in my city. I love Guitar Freaks though.

DDR has been around in japan about 4 years ahead of the US. The US mix used to be the only mix available in the states. *cringes*

Another update. I hear talk of ddr getting Xtreme. At gamecastle in Wi were getting an X mix scheduled for january. It has basically every song on max2 and 150 others.

Allright, count me in as fully addicted! DDR has really grown on me as I've realized that I don't completely suck (though I wouldn't call myself a natural either). Regarding Rob showing off: I remember playing at Fun Spot this summer, and he was failing 2-steppers pretty consistently :) And now, we've created a monster...

I have to take some credit for Rob being a showboater. I used to be better than he was and he wanted to catch up to me... then he went a little too far and I have to start doing the catching up.

Although, he's never attempted any songs in "hidden" mode yet! (Read: I can do it, but he can't)

I am currently on the "Death Row" level which was giving me a lot of trouble until i found a code that lets me use a tank. I am sure it will be much easire now.

I have been playing a lot of DDR MAX also and am currently working on trying on passing all songs in Heavy mode. I can pass half of them but the second half are becoming a real chore.

-Sean (who knows there are DDR MAX Gameshark codes available but doesn't want to use those)

Getting new songs is only on a numbered limit. Pass any song 500 times and youll get every song.

Actually John I finally started Hidden Mode, while at Midway the other night I did Butterfly in Hidden. The people there thought I was some sort of god. It's really nothing when you've been playing that song so much that you can do it in your sleep ;).

I still have to give it up for you who can do Paranoia in Hidden, that's pretty cool to see. You should have seen the looks on Brad's and Chris's faces when they were watching you do that.

Actually you can move (or what I call archive) ps1 files to a ps2 memory card. I do this on a regular basis, in case any of my ddr saves become corrupted on my ps1 card.

Ron,

Thanks for the info. I wasn't totally sure on the matter. While you may be able to 'move' them, I know my system won't let me use a PS2 card to save PS1 games on. Moving them would be the next step I guess. Thanks for the info dude
