I can't wait until Flash Flash Revolution goes beyond the only song they have right now. That's a really hard song!

Does anyone know if Flash Flash Revolution (FFR) compatible with any joystick-esque controller adapters?

I dont think FFR is compatible, but I-fan, you can get to other songs by clicking the down arrow under the songs.

Actually, I've gotten two songs to load. The first two dance songs, and in the second one you have to find it's sweet spot or it doesn't load properly. On the other songs, I get the arrows and the black screen, but it never says Ready, and the song title isn't displayed in the bottom right corner. Hey, it's in beta form. It's bound to have some problems.

OK, I get it now... I was using the wrong arrows... d'oh. Still pretty hard without music... wish I had my own office...

I went to the Laurel Mall (Laurel, MD) today to try and play the game at their arcade so I didn't have to pay to see a movie just to play the game. ddrfreak.com listed there being an arcade at this mall, there wasn't, but I bought the first version of the game for PS1 at an Electronics Boutique.

I don't have the pads yet, they're the only thing on my Christmas list, but the game is a lot more fun than playing that rediculously impossible Flash Flash Revolution. I'm such a dork I'm even hitting the right buttons to the songs and doing the feetwork with an invisible DDR mat beneath me at the same time. If someone who didn't know what the game was saw me doing this, it might look like Rain Man really having to go to the bathroom : ))

-----------------
Just imagine the Cedar Point announcement, "420 feet high at more than 100 mph straight up and straight down with a twist!". "Nah uh, really?" : ) I'm much more patient when I can see exactly what they are building.

No one's posted here for a while - I don't want this thread to get lost! ;)

This weekend I discovered Maxx Unlimited on my local DDRMAX2 machine. That song is so awesome, especially the jumps at the end. I'm talking about basic here - even trick is way too hard.

Also discovered the joys of Let's Groove heavy, Burning Heat standard (Nintendo music!) and Tsugaru standard (gallops!).

He let the contents of the bottle do the thinking; can't shake the devil's hand and say you're only kidding.

I also like Maxx Unlimited on basic. Especially that part where the beat literally stops for a few seconds and shoots back up to 320 bpm instantly. That arrow just sitting there motionless is pure torture! I can get an A on it, but it involves turning my legs into Jell-O (TM).

I love it when the beat stops - in Maxx Unlimited or in any song. Especially the quick stops in Burning Heat and Healing Vision Angelic Mix.

This is why I really need DDRMAX for PS2. Konamix is great, but apart from Healing Vision, Wild Rush and Era, I don't think there are any songs that change tempo, let alone have stops. MAX2 also has some cool stuff like the faster-and-faster beat at the end of Insertion, or the slow-down freeze in Maxx 300.

It just makes you look cool when you know exactly when those little tricks are coming. ;)

I love Max. I never play Konamix anymore. I think Max has better music, a better engine and it just generally "feels" better. I'm now pretty consistantly playing in standard mode and making some serious progress.

Well, add me to the list of people hit by the DDR bug. I needed to find a way to exercise for "Operation Fit In Wicked Twister" and I basically said, "What the hell" and dropped some cash on a new PS-One, a dance pad, and Dance Dance Revolution. I have played it now for three days straight and I am thoroughly addicted. While I am still no good at the game and I have no one to help tutor me I have been ripping through the lessons at a good pace and feel that with more practice I might actually be able to do some of the simpler dances sometime in the future.

Well - if I don't get a PS2 for Christmas, I will certainly buy one shortly thereafter. Although I'm not even close to bored with Konamix after 6 months. I still haven't beat a 9-footer, though I can get about 7/8 of the way through Matsuri Japan before I lose it.

So, rumor has it that Natalie challanged Rob to a game of 5th mix and Rob accepted, taunting Natalie in the process.

Let us all take this momemt to honor Rob's memory.

The rumor is now fact. Seems as if selling a book at your college for DDR money is grounds for being hostile and prompts you to go out and challenge others in DDR.

I accepted her challenge, but I'll have to wait for her to sell off more books ;) Stay tuned for the time and place for this display of geekgom, and see who will survive this intense battle.

And NO John, you can't have my computer.

Can you guys even believe this newb would think that he can beat me at this game?

Just because the 14 year olds at the mall think you're mega-leet, Rob, doesn't mean that you can beat anyone. And I will show you that (as soon as I get Christmas money from my family, that is). Merry Christmas to me, I get to beat Rob's butt at DDR...good enough present for me!

I'm there. Let me know the time and place. I'll bring the popcorn.
