Even though Behemoth is shorter, it does SO much more with it's layout. It looks very "meh" for its height. I305 is shorter, yet still looks like it does twice as much. You disappoint me yet again, B&M.

ALL HAIL THE TRIPLE DOWN!
I wonder how many people would complain if the lift hill would have been replaced with a LIM launched section...
Regardless, for a park whose rides are usually bogged down due to low capacity, why not build a different version (more speed emphasized?) of the park's most popular ride? HW seem to be doing that for their water park after all.
What record did it break, according to Kinzels quote that was on its teaser page? B&M's first giga?

Canada's first giga? Also, most coasters in a Canadian park (16)
I find the rendered POV to be very underwhelming... hopefully the real thing will kick a little more tail.
That said, I don't really have a problem with the ride. It looks fun! It's an enormous coaster that focuses on speed and curves rather than seeing how many air hills they can cram into an out and back. I dig that. That they built Behemoth a few years ago and followed it with this is a bit atypical (especially with both coasters coming from the same manufacturer), but that just tells me that Behemoth did incredible things for the popularity and success of Canada's Wonderland. And is it really that strange a choice? To me it's just the Millennium Force to Behemoth's Magnum XL200.
I have to say though, the brake run on this thing makes Dragon Fire look just ridiculous.

Looks better than Behemoth at least, but way too short for the height. Looks fun regardless.

After riding Behemoth, my impression is that B&M shouldn't do that type of ride. I love B&M smoothness, but in an out and back with no inversions, it makes for a ride that isn't really that exciting. So now they're going to have 2 rides that look impressive but are just OK when you actually ride them? Of course to someone who is not a roller coaster junkie, they'll be intense enough. In fact, I couldn't get my family on Behemoth because it was tall and scary looking, no matter how much I tried to convince them that it is nowhere near as intense as it looks.
I think even the GP might notice the similiarity between the two. But that's OK, especially in a park as popular as this one.
I still think CW easily rivals CP for the best park in the world and this addition makes that even more so.
Is there a concious effort by Cedar Fair to build Giga rides shorter than Millennium Force?
Nothing to see here. Move along.
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that looks disappointed by the ride.
It almost appears that this is Canada's Wonderland's answer to Cedar Point's Millenium Force. A lot of similarities.
300' hill - same
Steep drop - same
Overbanked turns - same
Turnaround on a remote island - same
Only problem is that the layout just seems dull and over with too quickly. I am not sure where that original quote came from, paraphrasing "If I only ride one coaster in 2012, it will be this one"... but it just doesn't seem all that exciting. I was expecting an actual barrel roll or some unique feature unlike any B&M, but the similarities to Behemoth are too close, with the exception that Behemoth has more hills and seems more exciting (just not as tall).
In other words... as said by another member... "meh", especially when this has been done better by Millenium Force, 12yrs ago... by Intamin.

Sorry, I just fell off my chair. LOL. I think this, Behemoth and maybe even Vortex are the only outstanding coasters at Wonderland.
I think that it looks spectacular. The cost is also why it probably ends when it does.
Looking forward to B&M's take on Millennium Force. The highlight of the ride looks like it will be the section of track between the over-bank and first camelback.
I was kind of surprised they didn't throw a splashdown in there, especially given the name. Also little disappointed that the brakes come so suddenly at such an elevation- seems like the train would have enough energy to do another thing or two, like Raging Bull after the MCBR. I guess the price tag had something to say about that.

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.
I recall a time when coaster enthusiasts never bitched and moaned about coasters...
Wait...'time'? I meant 'blissful dream'.
I assumed those brakes you hit were the mid-course due to the three trains, but apparently not?
Nothing to see here. Move along.
This looks like a pretty fun ride, but certainly not worth the long hike up there. I never thought I'd say that about a 300+ft coaster. I had really hoped B&M/CF would step out of the box a little for this one. No such luck.
I haven't been there since Behemoth's openening day. So, this will be a good excuse for me to make another trip.

I am pleased that the good trains have returned.
Also, this looks like a B&M Millennium Force. Seriously, go look at it with that mind set and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Although it wouldn't be hard to argue that Dragster, MF, Raptor, and Maverick are the only really outstanding coasters at Cedar Point...
Don't get me wrong, I dig the Point, but of its 17 coasters, there are mayyybe 7 that I consider must-rides when I visit.
Honestly neither CW or CP are even in the running for 'Best Park in the World' as far as I'm concerned...
