Compare construction at CP and Xcelerator

"Natalie, geez, thanks for trolling on something totally not on the issue at hand. My post did not respond with that tone at all.

1.) What I did was not trolling, it was hijacking.

2.) You still don't understand what trolling is.

3.) Instead of taking the person's post as a valid opinion and considering it, you blindly mashed your keyboard to form what amounted to "My opinion is right" instead of "This is what I believe."

4.) There is no number 4.

Think before you post, cheeznuts.

"How can you say "its a top hat, believe me". Have you seen photos of it?(even though there arn't any), do you work at CP or with Intamin? have you seen the plans ot talked to somone who has? What, are you reling on a hunch? Do you have a feeling? or somthing? you cant do that!"

I thought I'd re-post the alleged "troll" message. I fail to see how this is trolling. The person doesn't appreciate your cocky attitude towards something that isn't official yet. I understand that. I don't understand why you guys can't consider ANY OTHER possibilities than what YOU think.

-Natalie

That sounds like blindly mashing the keyboard to me. Which is generally considered a troll like activity.

If I would have put I believe it is a top hat instead of it's a top hat believe me would it have been so different?

I have looked at all the possibilities repeatedly and I 100 percent believe that that is what it is.

To have somebody telling me"You can't do that"as preposterous as my "cocky" attitude.

When asked why it's so different then Xcelerator I think i stated my case well.

I guess a bad choice of words on my part. I still don't see why it bugs you so much.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

For those of you that still dont think it will be the length that will be what enthusiasts will be disappointed with, check out this thread on GTTP:

Check out Jeff's post on the second page.

I believe it is possible for one other element to exist, maybe a large elongated bunny hop after the tophat that takes you into the brake run. But that may even be a stretch considering the speed that the train will most likely have coming off the tower. It is obvious from the footers and construction that the track goes straight out to the tower and straight back. The only other possibility would be an overbank at the opposite end but I dont think there is enough space there for that.

The ride is still going to be awesome if the rumored height and speed are correct. My only concern is as I said before, wait time versus ride time. But CP are the kings of capacity so I have faith it will be kept under control.

"Look at the support structure itself, and forget pictures I have saw it up close and personal a couple of times.

I am 100 percent sure that the top hat will go up that tower and down it. On the 2 outside legs of the tower are places for track to be attached. Footers lead up to the tower end and then go away from it in nice parrallel lines. Look at the tower now on the webcam, two identical sets of outward facing braces. Wow that couldn't be pull ups and pull outs could they? Of course they are.

It's not a hunch, it's not a feeling. It is what is gotten from putting two and two together and examining the evidence.

To me it is much more then a possibility, it is a certainty. the top hat is definitely going on that tower.

Believe Me

And I don't need to be screamed at by some troll thank you very much.

this reminds me of the first time i saw the drawing of xcellerator. i thought that the track will go up vertically and make a twist while vertical and go back down vertically.

I haven't visited the construction site, but looking at the photos...doesn't the tower look too narrow to have a tophat on it? If it's going to be 400+ feet, that's going to be a really sharp-pointy tophat if it's like Xcelerator. Just my opin.

Tall and narrow, red and white track, maybe it will be themed after The Cat in The Hat. :)

Personally, I don't think this is going to be necessarily a really short tracked coaster. I think it will have a really short ride time and going at speeds over 100 mph any ride time is going to be short. I see it going up the tophat and down into two over banks to brakes and then turn slowly into the station. There is flat 2-rail turn track now on site. There may be a bunny hop in the layout somewhere, but I think the only real "trick" will be the tophat, but it will be followed by a few speedy overbanks or hills before it hits the brakes. Nothing eye-popping after the 400ft+ drop...

Wow, we will always find something to ***** about won't we?

There are two ways to look at this:

1) Hope with all your might that it is more than a top hat and brakes, and be very disappointed if it isn't;

2) Concede to the fact that it is going to be a top hat and brakes, and be pleasantly surprised if it isn't.

Do yourself a favor. Choose the latter.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

or 3) Wait with bated breath for CP's announcement, knowing that whatever is built will be a quality coaster...

Personally, #3 is what I am doing...

Thanks Great America!

It is only October 2. They have seven months to work on this thing. A lot can happen between now and May. Don't get too disgusted yet before the park makes it's anouncement.

Look at the CP webcam and the size of the crane now!
If the coaster is just going to be a top hat and brakes, then they will be ready in about 1 month, 2 tops. My guess is they are starting this early for a reason. When did they start building Millennium Force?

sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't

Someone earlier commented about the width of the tower seeming rather narrow. I took an image of Xcelerator's top hat and one of this new coaster to do a comparison. I resized the images so that the track width apears the same size. You will notice that the width of the tower on this new coaster is significantly wider than Xcelerator. Certainly this isnt precise, but it is close enough...

That is indeed a big crane. I wonder if the second crane is there to bring up the new one or if it's there is assist in construction.

2 cranes would lead me to believe that this ride has more tricks than one.

It amazes me that, even with the smaller version sitting right in everyone's face right there at Knott's Berry Farm, people STILL have no clue about the CP version. Take the Knott's version, blow it up twice in size, and sit back and wait on the announcement. Geez, you'd think this was "Rocket" science... ;)

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?

I was at CP yesterday and ran into another supervisor friend of mine. She told me that CP will not announce the final stats until the new coaster being built in Germany announces theirs. She said CP doesn't want another Millennium Force/Steel Dragon occurrance.

I have heard this mutlipe times from various sources. So, I guess we just have to sit and wait. I am sure that CP will outdo the one in Germany!!!!!!!!!

btw.....I'm new to this board and look forward to future contributions!!!!!!!!!

What new coaster being built in Germany? The only ride that would have been any competition for CP's new coaster was the 400+ foot Intamin for Heide Park. This ride has been officially cancelled, though, and the park is now pursuing other options.

They can't just change the specs on a coaster that has already been built! What don't some of you understand about everything being calculated, manufactured, and shipped to be installed? You don't just change the height of rides on a whim.
