Coasting For Kids 2009: 8/26 at Cedar Point

I am thinking I am going to be in on this as well. I will try and decide soon, I imagine it will be sold out quick. Seems like a great event, fundraising for a great cause, a way for coaster nuts like myself to prove I'm crazy, and maybe some puke along the way.

Do you have to be a CoasterBuzz club member? What happens if you sign up and you find out you can't make it?

You don't have to be a member. If you sign up and can't make it, your seat will simply be empty. But if you do sign up, you have to raise a minimum of $50. One person already has a target of $1,000... so aim high!

Alright, I'm all signed up! You can sponsor me here if you would like. When do we find out if we are one of the first sixty registered?

The flier said to e-mail Jeff for confirmation. I got mine back in a matter of minutes. I am excited to participate in this. Unfortunately, my ride buddy (13 year old daughter) will not be able to be by my side. She starts school that day.

Yeah, I'm confirming riders as we go. As soon as we hit the 60, I'll take down the link to the fund raising registration and let everyone know we're full.

I posted this at KICentral and I see that a friend from there has signed up too. Here is hoping for full trains & lots of green for GKTW.

I did Single Riders a couple years ago at Kennywood. I look forward to raising more money for GKTW. See everyone at the point!

I think it's around 15 so far.

That is great for such a short time.

Do you have any details yet as to how this is going to be run?

Will it be on one track with the public on the other?

I dunno, that's up to the operations folks. But I would assume it keeps people moving to just put the chains up on one side and let the general public board the other side.

I sent another email to the email address that is on the Coasting for Kids site. If that does not work, please let me know.

P.S. Wondering what numbers we are up to now?

I have family members that have been to the village 

and it's a very worthy cause. I hope none of you 

guys will ever have to go there with a family member. 

But if you do it's top notch and offers the kids and

their families a wonderfull experience. I'm glad that

there are coaster fans that are willing to take a day off work for this event.
