Now all we need is some butts to fill the rest of the seats.

Just (re)shot you a comfirmation email, Jeff. It may be a double - I sent you one Thursday night, but I hadn't heard back from you.
Check your spam folder... I did reply originally, and just resent. And oddly, your message came in as spam as well.

I have also signed up. Any donations greatly appreciated!

It will be nice to meet other buzzers in person, I've followed the site a couple of years although don't really post, but I felt this was a worthwhile cause.
See you there!
Just did a tally. So far we are over $1700 raised for GKTW. Way to go guys.
Lets shoot for $5k.

Dave,
thanks for the poster, it got several looks in my cube today.
Jeff. I have a friend that wants to make out a check rather than using the site. Whom do I have him make out the check to?
I would think Give Kids The World, but I would like verification before letting him know.
Thanks.

I wish I had vacation days at work, because I would definitely take part in this event if I did. :(
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
OK, Susie says have them make out the check to Give Kids The World, and just bring it the day of the event and you can hand it to her directly.

Thanks Jeff. I have been surprised at how reluctant many people are to use the website.

Well, I still get club memberships in the mail too, but they constitute 1% of memberships.

Hopefully this event works out wonderful and you will be able to do this at other parks in the future. I love the idea of the coaster marathon, while raising money for a great cause, win-win! Please consider doing this in the future at SFGAm, I would enjoy the opportunity to participate in such an event.
If we get a solid response, it may very well spread to other parks. And we'll need some help organizing it too, so if you happen to live in distant cities, keep that in mind.

Considering the short notice, it looks like this is going to turn out pretty well. Hopefully any future events could have more notice and in turn an even better response.

I agree, that a more advanced notice would produce better results!
Off Topic, but I haven't tried listening to music on a roller coaster yet with an MP3 player....What do you think their tolerance will be? Will this be legit or not. I've ridden hundreds of coasters, but I haven't tried listening to music before while ridding. Also I haven't seen anyone doing this. Just an idea to keep the mind from wandering during a marathon!!!
I probably wouldn't challenge CP on that, but my assumption is that would be a loose article, and not allowed.
I agree about the notice, but another organization had a chance a week earlier and thought it wasn't enough time. I think we'll do OK anyway. So far you guys have rounded up a lot of generous people.

I really was hoping to avoid a Wednesday class so I could participate, but I probably shouldn't miss the first day of class. Glad to hear the fundraising is going well, and since I won't be able to be there, I'll see if I can get some contributions in to fellow Buzzers.
