Been thinking about doing this for a while. I figured now would be a good time to bring some levity during this unprecedented pandemic crisis where most of us are shut in our homes for potentially the next several weeks. Also, with Jeff's announcement yesterday of the improved search function, the timing works well.
I'd like the post above to be a compiled list of all the funny and/or legendary memes, topics, posts, etc. that we've seen/created over the last two decades, and include links to the thread (or the specific post within the thread, if applicable) where they originated. Things like whether or not Jeff likes pancakes, the minivan of justice, Moosh the Ride, the gravy buffet (or was that just a generic enthusiast meme not specific to this site?), my bran muffin petition, SFGAdv can't support a hotel, etc. The idea is for all of us to contribute (I can't remember half of them), and either post a link to the thread if you can find it, or if you can't, maybe I or someone else can. I've started things off with my own, but I could use a lot of help getting more added. Feel free to post the meme or a link, or both, and I'll edit the post above as time allows to grow the list.
Parking mid-Timbers... I can't find the first instance of it

Short lived and not all that long ago, but “were they black?” was a favorite of mine. I don’t remember the thread, but I think it was something about unruly guests and someone dropped the question with little context. Then when he/she explained it, it didn’t sound any better.
The haiku thing stuck around for a while, but I don't know if there was a specific thread where it was "the thing" of the thread. Similar to the Gonch back.

I've read this site religiously for the better part of 20 years, but hardly ever post. I should do so more often and this is a great forum to start. Plus I'm stuck at home.
I think my favorite part of this story is how much I appreciate any plan with the last step "run like hell."
That was my first and possibly last meaningful contribution to Coasterbuzz.
Thanks, Mel.
I still have the meme saved on my laptop.
Promoter of fog.
If you want to do Pointbuzz crossovers you can do a "Made Whole" meme as well as one about Steel Vengeance having the wheels put on wrong.
CoastaPlaya's BulletPoint format TRs, "cuz nobody gives a crap what you ate for breakfast (TM)", which also included the ranking category "Cold Fries Bad". You'd eat them, but only if there isn't anything else to do.
(I can't find the first instance, but here is one.)
Well this brought some much needed laughter to my day.
"Were they black?" was hilarious in a cringe-inducing way.
but the kid whipping out his ACE card like a cop gets me every fan time.
Yeah. Where is "ACE card bust"?

Thanks for posting this Vater. I've been laughing reading through these; it's also been a fun history lesson for someone like myself who wasn't around when all of these started.
Funny stuff.

I was just rereading this one, I had completely forgotten about it. When I was reading it something popped into my mind. Why does it seem like the vast majority of enthusiasts in this hobby are entitled, think they are better than someone else, etc. I feel like this is in the minority of other hobbies where the "experts" or enthusiasts are more interested in getting others to try things out, or grow and develop them.
Maybe I have just been lucky to fall into the right community, but here is an example: I am a huge AV guy. I spend probably too much time researching and discussing AV equipment and associated components. There are always those who are brand loyal, and think X brand is better than Y, and the enthusiasts will get into their debates, but this never seems to carry over to the GP. If a noob comes along and says I have $1000 to spend and I would like suggestions, they receive a bunch of helpful comments from just about everyone. The goal is to get them interested and on a path to growing their hobby. No one takes time out to say something along the lines of "well my $40000 speakers are way better than that so you are wasting your time", but yet I feel that exact thing would happen in the coaster community.
Do hardcore coaster riders just happen to have a positive correlation with dirtbags?

Nope. Just pontificators, geeks and the generally socially awkward.
It's quite a recipe for disaster.
I wish we could capture the time that a bunch of people kept linking the words "gravy buffet" to the ACE web site, and when you searched for "gravy buffet on Google, the ACE site was the first result. Ah, the wild west version of the Internets.

Okay, I can't find the search feature, but "Dollywood is SO GAY" is a favorite.
