There is plenty of space for bigotry on the internet. I can't speak for Jeff and Walt but I'm pretty sure this ain't the place.
Is in raining in West Virginia tonight and you just don't have anything else to do?

Allright! Jeff from Coasterbuzz disregards mentally instable people!
NICE.
Be nice, Jeff. You are trying to make money from people that have PROBLEMS.....
Snuff out does poor people, does blacks, and we left wit nice folks like mister 'wahoo skipper'.
Come on man :) People who want to make money, don't care who they make it from!
Actually, I know many folks who would put morality over profits. Look no futher than the owners of Chick-Fil-A who choose not to open on Sundays.
I don't think you should be disregarded because you may be mentally unbalanced. I just think you should be disregarded b/c you have added no value to the conversation and, in fact, have uglied up the place.
I suspect there are many mentally unbalanced folks in here who make lasting and significant contributions. You have to be somewhat unbalanced to be talking about a set of amusement parks that don't open for another few weeks at close to midnight on a Sunday.
Guilty.
My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
We should just criticize folks for being 'unbalanced' and in need for a catscan. I've never had one, where can I get one? How much?
And how, wahoo skipper, should I make a valuable contribution as a mentally unbalanced person? how would YOU do it?? Being mentally balanced, of course, how do you do it?
BTW, I do find Chic-fil-a totally overrated by people. How can I, make a valuable contribution to this forum?

CoasterComet, you brought race into the discussion. And have not talked about the subject at hand. I even forgot what I was reading.
Back on topic:
Both sides of the charm/trees/Cedar Fair neutering argument have very valid points. Some people can't see that, though. That's a shame. *sigh* :(
My coaster season starts next weekend and I can tell that it is none too soon.

By reading this site, one is a customer. The customers get treated like crap here.Wait a sec. This isn't exactly an e-commerce site. How do you deem that by reading this site you are a "customer" of coasterbuzz? Reading the site in no way mandates any club membership which is the only way you could "buy" something on this site.
I respect your inquiry into wanting to better understand what I meant in my previous post.
Ads...and the desire of the site's owner to acquire new club memberships. Include potential customers too. If CoasterBuzz wasn't such a hostile place, I would have started buying membership years ago. But I really don't like most people who post here, because they never really gave me a reason to. A lot of the time the Mods participate in the beatings, and don't really moderate the name callers and those who go too far.
KI is still a beautiful park, but I fear that CF sill turn it into another Dorney. We can't all disagree that Dorney was changed for the worse under CF, can we? Remember, we all have differing opinions. Some of us don't like what they did.
CoasterBuzz is a great place to visit if you want to call people names, make fun of their personal lives, and want to bully people with no repercussions.
I am an unsatisfied customer.

But still a repeat customer. :)
Rips on them for cheap labor, insurance, putting the family owned store out of business.
Yet still shops at Walmart.

Look, Kings Island lost a lot of its atmosphere/charm/trees/oompa loompas a long time before Cedar Fair ever took over. Courtesy of KECO and Paramount.
I only hope that CF doesn't exacerbate the situation. Like ripping out the waterfall grove (one of the few really nice parts of the park remaining) and sticking in yet another cookie cutter Camp Snoopy. Tell me you couldn't imagine them doing that?
I still like Kings Island. They have a lot more coasters than when I was a kid. So that's a positive trade-off. But I simply cannot accept that it's an either/or proposition: build lots of rides, but only at the cost of sacrificing charm and beauty and uniqueness.

I guess the resident 'brutha' is gonna have to correct everybody's bad diction and broken English again. Where do I start?

No ya won't. Not on a Sunday night you won't. At least not me. And certainly not all by myself with no friends--that's your M.O.
Okay. That probably went right over (if not through) your head. Would it help any if I told you I was in the big house with the white wimmins, too? Ohhhh nooooooooo! :) *snork* I mean, hey. If we're gonna deal with broad generalizations and all...

No no a thousand times NO Jeff.
Prozac is a treatment for those merely depressed. While auditory/visual hallucinations and paranoid ideation can indeed be a manifestation of a depressive disorder, this calls for something more along the lines of Haldol or Risperidal.
And four-point restraints. Keep his hands from a keyboard!

Yes. He does. You're right.
Cuz lumping the merely 'instable' with you is INSULTING. To them!

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.
I honestly can't fathom why some of you even bother taking part in the discussion on this discussion forum, unless you're looking for an opportunity to re-visit your grade school days when you picked on the one kid for being different. Chuck commented on how he's worried that a construction site at Kings Island could very well lead the erosion of the park's atmosphere and natural beauty- two things the park actually has going for it. Instead of engaging in a thoughtful conversation, it's nothing but a bunch of empty accusations and name-calling. I'm not going to pretend that Chuck hasn't fueled the fire (because he has) but what has transpired is utterly pathetic. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who usually finds himself at the center of "pathetic" conversations 'round these parts!
It's no secret that Cedar Fair has a way of killing a park's atmosphere, and I can't believe some people can't see that. This isn't a discussion about atmosphere having to give way to growth, it's a discussion about the loss of atmosphere. Dorney suffered- what was once a park covered with trees is now a concrete and gravel wasteland. Cedar Point seems to loses more trees every year. I'd comment on Michigan's Adventure, but it looks as though that park was a barren wasteland to begin with. Love 'em or hate 'em, Cedar Fair cuts down trees, and in the eyes of many that detracts from the atmosphere. Atmosphere matters to some people as much as rides and attractions do. I like parks with lots of trees and gardens because if I want to see concrete and gravel, I can hang out in the mall parking lot and not have to spend any money for the pleasure of doing so.
Enthusiast bias can be spun both ways. Sure it's trendy to like small, independently-owned parks but it's also trendy to care more about shareholder dividends than what a park actually does, so those who accuse others of bias should take a good look at themselves in the mirror. As someone that falls into the former group instead of the latter, I still don't see what's so "biased" about expressing my opinions. I'm not in this hobby because I care what others think of me, nor do I like certain parks because it helps me relate to a certain faction of enthusiasts. I like smaller parks like Knoebels, Waldameer and Morey's Piers because I generally have a better time at those parks than I do at Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks. It's not like I don't want to have a good time at corporate theme parks, because there are some that are quite excellent, like those owned by Disney and Busch.
I agree with what some others have said. Isn't the off-season over and done with for the most part?
