I just said there'll be no more uber-cold winters in Sandusky due to Global Warming because I reading the big article in TIME Magazine...

Not to get this too far off topic but global warming could potentially contribute to more severe winters in Sandusky. This past winter was incredibly mild all over the east coast but this is just one individual winter.

hey Hey HEY!!! Knock it off!! I didn't start this thread over a month ago to have it turn into a political forum! For crying out loud next you'll be talking about gun control or last nights Lost episode! I started this so we could have rediculous theories, improbable hypothises, and insane opinions so those in the know could mock and scoff and berate! NOT to share your world ideals! Cripe, what's it been? 36 hours since the last 500 foot post? Come on people, let's get back on topic!! Whatever the hell that was!! Here, go to CP's blog and check out the residents of Boneville.

There, now don't you feel better? :)

You have disturbed the forbidden temple, now-you-will-pay!!!

The current rate of global warming is about 1 degree per century. If you want to consider that something to worry about in our lifetime then I guess I can understand it.

Back to the insane opinions!

As much as I don't think it would fit in, I see the 4D rumor gaining a lot of support.

Sad, but true. I just can't fathom a 4D being a family attraction.

1 degree is all it takes going from freezing point to melting point, which means permafrost still frozen, or melted into the ocean.

As for the updated Blog... too bad no new updates on the new 520+ foot coaster (;))...

The poor bonesville characters... stuck all crammed into a warehouse with nowhere to go. That's one section of track on the train-ride I hope never ever goes. It's such a staple at the park, that it's even worth it to walk to the back of the park just to take the train ride to go thru the bone-yards.

I nominate LDScotsman for coolest relative-noob yet ;)
What ever happened to the good old rumors of Cp taking parking main land? Ya know? The lack of space crap.

I Haven't heard one in a while.(Please forgive me if someone mentioned it in this thread and forgot.)

Can't wait till season starts. Im actually getting my first season pass(along with the gf). Took her to Halloweekends last year and we had a hell of a blast.

I can see them putting a monster coaster back in that area and then adding some smaller rides eventually. After all the footprints don't have to be huge. With clever designs(IE indiana Beach) You can get a lot of rides in a little area.

Just a thought.

You are right Psycho, this thread may have taken 19 pages without any mention of Cedar Point running out of space which is pretty remarkable.

Let's just hope you haven't let the genie out of the bottle and some people decide to latch onto the idea.

Well, considering footers ARE already in place... it's kinda hard to say they're running out of space when they've already begun preliminary construction, so you already know a coaster of some sort is going up there.

I don't see how CP can even think about adding a coaster with the lack of space issue that they are currently facing.

:)

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

k, so i know that i'm new to the site, but i just wanted to throw in my two cents: i don't think that 500ft is feasible for the park. granted there is a giant footer and all and they've relocated train tracks for the upcoming season, but . . . 500ft, no matter how they plan on getting people up there, just won't work.

knowing CP's history though, they have to break some kind of record, but i think for '07 it isn't going to be all about height. i think Kinzel will switch gears towards length.

i pray for the day CP constructs another B&M and supposedly they have another on contract with them, but i regret having to say i think it will def. be an intamin.

The footers could be for supports to hold the antique car track they are adding to have the world record of most antique car tracks in one park. Not to mention they are only showing footers in the back of the park but if you go to eat in Bay Marina there might be something going up there...which could be the other half of the pull out for the 500ft coaster ;) And yes, I know what really is going on up there before people respond to that. BUT...it could be a distraction Show a couple footers over here while you build the ride over there Mwa ha ha ;)

PS-Sorry for about the Farmer's Almanac report earlier leading to loss of sleep for some LOL

I was hoping that they were going to bring back the Tiki Twirl so they could once again claim the title of "Only Park With Two Calypso Rides Anywhere!"

BTW see the title of this so called "Thread" and go here: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm

again. *** Edited 3/31/2006 5:20:25 PM UTC by LdScotsman***

You have disturbed the forbidden temple, now-you-will-pay!!!

Ohio's lowest point is 455 feet above sea level, unless the ocean raises that much the lake level isn't going to rise. We have those pesky Falls that connect the lakes to the ocean. Unless you flood Niagara Lake Erie is not going to flood Cedar Point. The trend for Lake Erie is that the Lake level is going down.
Moosh, they aren't listening to you. Logic escapes a majority of the crowd.

Why would Cedar Fair build B&M coasters at 3 of their parks and not at their biggest park? They obviously had a multi-ride contract with them. And it's not like the park has a reputation for getting bad rides from them either.

I'm expecting a new route to get from Frontier Trail back to Mean Streak myself.

Hey, two mentions of multi-coaster contracts within 10 posts! The thread has reached a new low!
I'm sorry, I only read posts that make sense. I never suggested there was a multi-ride deal with Cedar Point, rather with Cedar Fair.

Am I missing something enfynet? Doesn't CP already have a B&M ride in Raptor?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

CP already has two (2) B&M coasters, Raptor and Mantis. B&M does make more than two types of coaster. What enfynet was refering to was the infamous multi-ride deals enthusiasts claim that parks or park chains have with manufacturers since CF has put in Silver Bullet, the Patriot, and Hydra in the past two years.

Thanks Bob. Mantis plain ole' slipped my mind. My thought was that his logic was actually illogical, based on the premise of Talon, Silver Bullet, Patriot, all inverts, with CP already having Raptor.
