Cedar Point's Blog is teasing us!

I don't see two huge coasters, but other than that it seems totally plausible... However, I wouldn't be suprised if there were 2 coasters. One major, and then a "family-friendly" ride to go along with the rest of the new area.

The only reason I don't see adding two major coasters in the same year is that it's a waste of money! Why add two major coasters in one year when you can wait a year or two and market them seperately? Not only would the park be drawing people in for the new coaster in '07, but they'd have more return visits for another one in '08 or '09 in the same revitalized area.

I still like my idea of taering out Mean Streak and putting in a new Intamin woodie and a small family coaster.. But that's probably just wishful thinking ;)

Personally, I think that CP should be looking at a Powder Keg-type attraction for Frontier Town (if they aren't already ;)). It's family friendly (42" height restriction) and, FWIH, quite a crowd pleaser.

Considering CedarFair's renewed relationship with S&S, and Powder Keg's proven performance at SDC, it makes all the sense in the world to me.

It also really moves the people through the queue line fast (PK). A full queue line is still a short wait for that ride.
While I do think that we are probably in store for at least the Floorless coaster, and a Flyer as well wouldn't surprise me, a family coaster also is a very good idea. One ride I was thinking of was Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster like Runaway Reptar, but a ride like Powder Keg sounds good as well! Then there's always the water coaster idea, which would help bring back some of what was lost with WWL's removal. The old WWL station could even be incorporated with that kind of ride, and judging from the new park maps, there is still water left around the old station. Whatever the particulars are of the rides, I really think a renovated Frontier Town like I described is what we'll be seeing. *** Edited 4/16/2006 8:10:34 PM UTC by DILinator***

And I'd love to wear a Paramount shirt when I meet him! Oh wait, someone I know already did that!

Can that be nominated for geekiest post of the week? Like the CEO of a major, Wall Street listed company would really take .2 seconds out of his day to worry that some geek saying hi to him in a park is wearing a "competitor's" shirt

I was wearing a Kingda Ka shirt when I met him, and he did comment on it. It wasn't like he was "worried" about it or anything (he was just being friendly), but it was kind of funny.
