Now they just need to do something about that crossing by Mean Streak.

Interesting the station is staying, they could be using it for the next ride going there, or maybe just a new place to eat? I always did like that platform though.

Yep - it is going to be the The BEST World's Largest Spnning All You Can EAT Buffet that you can RIDE ON "ON THE PLANET!"
^The frontier inn, which sells food, is right next to White Water Landings station. So it probably wont be a food place. *** Edited 2/22/2006 5:11:03 PM UTC by CedarPoint420***
Then why do they have the Chuck Wagon Inn right next to the Last Chance Saloon? Or Dastardly Dans next to CJ's Provisions next to Toot Sweets?

Just because there is a food place nearby, doesn't mean they couldn't put one in.

I love it when sarcasm is taken seriously :)

Watch the tram car please....

The BEST World's Largest Spnning All You Can EAT Buffet

They used to have a place like this. It was called Duff's! I used to eat at one in Findlay, Ohio as a kid. There was another in the Dayton suburbs that we used to crash in college. This was some cheap and nasty food. You know it is bad when patrons are too lazy to walk up and down the isle to get their buffet food. Nope...Duffs put the food on a spinning wheel and you just had to stand in one spot and scoop the food as it passed you by. If you did not get enough, you had to wait for the mash potatoes to make full circuit and take another shot!

...I am not making this up!

Ahhh... Duff's... I worked there when I was a kid... You had to be a real man to eat the food there - and you had to be able to fight off the roaches. Chicken is supposed to be green, right?

You could control the speed of the wheel from the kitchen. It was always fun to slowly speed it up and watch the people scramble.

That is mighty interesting, but the platform continually moves and is also circular so probably going to stay with a water attraction in my opinion. But very cool ideas could come out of this.

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

I loved Duffs....but anyway...

They are starting pretty early on this project. Any woodies take this long to build? I can think of Hades but they were building that tunnel and the parking lot at the same time and took long breaks, I think. The only CP projects I can think of that started anywhere close to this early would be MF and TTD. Does anyone think that this early clearing is an indication of massive size even by CP standards?

Why does everyone think it's a single huge coaster? They could easily be adding an entirely new SECTION to the park with a selection of rides.
^I agree, Probably a coaster(it'll be 4 years in 2007 since their last coaster). Maybe a new log flume(they left WWL's station up),some flat rides, and new shops. *** Edited 2/23/2006 6:37:37 AM UTC by CedarPoint420***
My thought is why does everyone think that if WWL's station was used for a coaster that they would have to keep with the round track? They could just as easily get rid of the turntable (there were pictures in the blog of them taking it apart in the fall) and have track run straight through from one end of the station to the other.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

How much space is that clearing from WWL and moving the train tracks?

It is a FACT that The Voyage is the greatest thing on the planet!!

Yes, I too remember Duff's. A line from The Simpson's seems appropriate here...

"Can't get enough of that wonderful Duff's" :)

Whatever ride(s) they put in will be fantastic, I'm sure. One thing I would like to see is a new entrance and exit to the adjacent parking lot. If you're staying in the cabins, especially the ones closest to Mean Streak, then you have a very long walk to get to the Magnum Park Entrance.
I looked a satellite picture and if they left the station, if it's a floorless, I think there is enough room to dip out of the station facing Mean Streak, do a jojo roll and turn around into a lift hill.
Speaking of the round nature of the WWL station, wouldn't it be neat if they stuck some sort of flat spin ride inside?

I agree, I think they may open up a new section of Frontiertown back there. I thought maybe a new path going around where WWL was back to where they used to have the old carousel would really open up that part of the park and eliminate a dead end.

All the speculation is fun. Especially since I will not be back to CP till 2007.

The above is my opinion and my opinion alone. If I have offended you in any way please note that this was most likely unintentional and I will not apologize for stating what I believe.
