Cedar Point's Blog is teasing us!

500' dueling Roller Soakers? Isn't that kinda short for a ride?

-Tambo(still wants wood)

Uh... not when they are 500' in the air. Duh...

Actually, the deuling Roller Soaker idea could be frickin' awsome. Not saying that CP would do something like that but I certainly think there are quite a few parks where something like that would be just ridiculously popular.
I have to agree - dueling roller soakers over in soak city would rock. Go figure. This and 500 footers would get me equally excited.

I'm sticking to my belief that we may be looking at *2* medium coasters, one for kids, one for the teens, rather than 1 giant one. And it will all be part of a new expansion of that area. And that's the reason for the early start. How's that for leaving with a "bang"?

I just pray one of them is wood. ;)

As long as one of those medium coasters makes it to Golden Ticket Awards Top ten. ;)

Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding

I'd much rather see the ride in my personal top ten then Golden Ticket's.

I was just watching the modern marvels video clip on the six flags website about kingda ka. They where showing a model video on how the launch system worked and they showed a train being launched up a lift hill type incline.

I was wondering that if cedair point would build a 500 foot coaster that launches you up the lift hill?

Ummm...Dragster?

"launches" up the "lift hill"? Come on, at least re-read what you post ... why would you even do that? If you're launching and trying to achieve height, why pay the money for a spread out hill when you already know how to go straight up? No, it's not happening

Top Thrill Dragster had A LOT OF DOWNTIME when it opened. And the next year...and the next year. Kingda Ka was hardly open at all before it was shut down for its entire first seaon. Does anyone honestly think they would let Intamin try that again. It would be nice for Intamin to pay back Cedar Point with a lovely wooden coaster. God knows they need one.
how is launching up the lift hill a stupid idea.
At a certain height and length wouldn't a chain or wire be complicated ?

You wouldnt have to put anything besides magnetic breaks on the lift hill.

Also you wouldn't have to launch very fast just enough to make it to the top?

Go to this link

http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/Rides/KingdaKa.html

watch the video. It shows a rendering of a train being launched up a hill not a tower like ttd or ka.

I think it could work. I don't see why it would be stupid.

Also, isn't the cable lift on millenium force and el toro almost like intamins launch technology ?

I am saying for a 500 foot high lift hill it could be difficult to get that long of a wire or lift chain on a hill like that. If you can get less equipment on that hill then it would be easier. *** Edited 3/25/2006 4:19:01 PM UTC by majortom1981***

It does work.

California Screaming @ Disney's California Adventure has a lift hill that uses lims instead of a chain mid-way through the ride.

I wouldn't hold one's breath expecting to find on the next new coaster at CP.

My god some of you people here are such size queens! 200 feet isn't enough...300 feet isn't enough...400 feet isn't enough....

ENOUGH ALREADY!

Maybe its a wooden inverted coaster.

Lol its not a stupid idea because a patent does exist on it :)

Sure, because there's NEVER been anything stupid that had a patent!!

One thing CP does NOT need is another Kingda Krap!

It is a FACT that The Voyage is the greatest thing on the planet!!
Pink, I think we'll all agree with that!
