- a 4D won't break any world height, speed, loops, or length records - Tom

We almost agree. There's a reason I didn't include loops in my statement. With a 4D it's relatively simple to include an inversion at nearly any point on the ride. They could build a 4D that had the most inversions on it in the world. That wouldn't be too difficult.

I'm sure that we would then have arguments as to whether a flip caused by the 3rd rail and spinning cars counts as an equal inversion to the entire track inverting. I can see it already. :)

Now I will say that IF CP is building a 4D, I wouldn't doubt them trying to grab one or all of the 4D records (height, speed, inversions, length). Same thing if they are building a flyer.

I doubt we are looking at Cedar Point building a 4D coaster. What I do see is either a family coaster/ride that just about the whole family can ride or do together. Or maybe a few rides rather than just one ride.

I know that is what you want, and it is probably not a bad move, but knowing CP's reputation, do you seriously think they are teasing us this early in the blog for a family coaster or a group of smaller attractions? *** Edited 3/12/2006 4:44:06 PM UTC by RavenTTD***
I do.
I don't see this link posted yet, but here is a pic out of a recent Sandusky Register:

oh, sweet jeezus... cp is goin' for it....

(don't know what it is yet, but whatever it is, they are, indeed, going for it.;)

Yes because circular rebar cages sticking out of a already photographed footer mean ... nothing.

No, they mean that they are putting more concrete in that general shape and size there. I don't know who thougth those were bolts under the tarp, but their size estimates were a little extreme. Not every footing is 30ft deep.

I'm with Moosh on the area being turned into more concrete. They need to make up for having such a narrow path between the Skyride and Dodgems and Coasters diner. :)

I said that?
You must have Moosh. Its in black and white right above your post. And we all know if you read it, it must be true. :)

I'm still saying there getting a 4D, and I'm sticking with it

We all know they can't build a Dive Coaster, there's just not enough room for a Dueling Flying Coaster, AND THEY AREN'T BUILDING A 500 FOOTER

So, the only Coaster you can come up with is a 4D. Period, Plain, and Simple....

Why not a REGLAR flyer? Why would it have to be dueling? Ever think of that? A normal flyer takes up as much a footprint as any other coaster.

Why NOT a Dive coaster? It doens't need any larger a footprint than a B&M flyer... It also proved to be successful in Busch Gardens Tampa & more improvements could be made upon that.

Your logic doesn't make sense, Dragstermania.

Um, I think CP is in a position to build almost they want to. There is no reason they couldn't build a dive machine if they wanted one..

That's the dumbest post in this thread, and that's saying a lot.

As already stated, why can't CP build a dive machine if they wanted? There's no reason they couldn't!

Not enough room for dueling flyers, yet there is enough for a record breaking 4D? Have you seen the support structure necessary for a 4D? It's massive, especially if you want a record breaking 4D. The reason CP won't get dueling flyers is because it's a stupid idea, not because they don't have the room.

At least we agree they aren't building a 500 footer.

Why does that only leave a 4D as the only coaster remaining? What about a water coaster, spinning coaster, woodie, floorless, etc...? There are still plenty of coaster types for CP to build and while I'm not saying they wouldn't build a 4D, I am saying your logic is weak.

Yeah is Good!
I'm sorry People, but ya'll need to WAKE UP

They can't build a Dive Machine, due to the fact that Busch Gardens built shireka and they have a contract stating that NO ONE can build this or similar as is to there ride..

There NOT just going to build a lonlely old flyer, so the only logical answer is a 4D COASTER

Have you seen the support structures for the coaster NO....Have I....NO, but it's so freakin obvious what there getting, and I'm willing to lay a lot of $$$$$ that they are getting a 4D

Plain and Simple

Don't you love all these "Contracts" that seem to happen in the coaster business? ;) *** Edited 3/14/2006 4:47:04 AM UTC by Peabody***

The "no other dive machines" thing is true. It was said by a park official in a local newspaper interview about the time the ride opened. I'm sure if you search around here you can find a link.
