Cedar Point, The Best?

You just answered your own question... "I figured it doesn't hurt to hash it out from time to time."

As far as defining "it," I mean why we do or don't rank parks or compare them. So what?

Hey, they're my rules, so if anyone can bend them, it's me. I don't understand why people have such a hard time understanding that (or maybe they understand it, but don't like it).

You know, that's funny. I was there the same week as you and experienced none of what you did. In fact, my longest wait for Duelling Dragons was 15 minutes. The rest of the rides had longer waits, and it was 90 degrees out, but the mist fans were functioning.

Really? PROVE IT.

I will scan in my Power Annual Pass (purchased 3/24/02, which you can readily figure from the blackout dates) and my hotel receipts the minute I get home.

BTW, I can already prove you're lying from the little you've said. I can also link to third-party sources re: park crowds that week...but I'll give you a chance to admit you're not telling the truth.

IOARules: You pretty much baited people to bash you repeatedly throughout this thread...then whine when you get it. Either accept criticism like a man or don't fling stones from your glass house.

I haven't read this whole thread and all the posts........but by looking at IOArules first posts, I just have one thing to say to him:

Cry me a river whiner!

Just b/c you weren't happy w/ your day at CP.....don't come and whine to us about it!

What do you expect us to do, give you a lollipop and tell you you'll have a better visit next time.

Hey guess what I don't know if you have figured this out yet, but life isn't fair!

I went to Millennium Mania last year for the sole purpose of riding Millennium Force, but guess what, it was broken down.

Did you ever find a thread on here where I ranted and raved about that - NO!

I took what I could get, I made the best out of the day, riding Raptor and Magnum, Power Tower and Vertigo w/ virtually no lines.

I had a great time! Sure I was dissappointed about MF, but guess what.......I got over it!

If you are so pissed about your day at CP, tell it to someone who cares because we here don't need to hear your whining.

Ah, the Microsoft method: he who makes the rules can break the rules. ;)

I understand and have defended your right to run CB the way you see fit. But take a look at the posts above this one. Isn't this one of the reasons you don't want these best/worst posts to begin with. Name calling, bashing, petty cr-p, etc.

A waste of your resources. But, as you said, it's your site; so, if that's what you want!

Oh, and by the way, I don't think CP is the best. I much prefer PKI, SFGAm, and HW. But that's only my opinion. :)

"Really? PROVE IT."

What are you looking for here? Do you want me to scan my plane ticket? Or my hotel ticket proving I was there that week? For you, I'll even see if I kept my ticket to IOA. I was there on the 26th, Magic Kingdom on the 27th. Visited my Girlfriend's family on the 28th and came home to Conn. the 29th.

Playa, I waited in lines, no doubt. 60 min for Hulk, 75 min for Spidey, 60-80 for Ripshaw Falls, 75 for Popeye rapids (this ride blew in my opinion...had to ring out my short in the bathroom after I got off). I do remember one other thing that day which you alluded to. Ripshaw Falls did close down about an hour after we had ridden it.

I never said you were lying. I just didn't see the same things you saw that day. Like I said, I waited in line for DD for 15 min the most and that was because they stopped the ride to test it for a few runs.

"BTW, I can already prove you're lying from the little you've said."

Why don't you explain this comment for me. Because I've said little, I'm a liar? That doesn't make mush sense. Are you one of those people who bash newbies because they don't agree with everything you say?

"If you are so pissed about your day at CP, tell it to someone who cares because we here don't need to hear your whining."

Since when do you speak for everyone in this forum? If you don't care about what he has to say then don't read his posts. It's quite simple actually. Nobody cares about what you have to say but do you see anybody flaming you for it? Besides, I care about his experience because I was thinking about planning a trip there in the near future.

No, because it never came even close to 90 the whole week....and even the Orlando Sentinel had a piece about the record crowds that weekend (USF - largest since New Years Y2K and WDW closing their parking lot altogether).

But now that you posted your other wait times, your story sounds more like the truth. (Switches off flamethrower)

I think you'll agree that around 2-4 pm they were worse with Spidey usually 110-120 minutes around that time and the Hulk and JP being pretty close too.

Bottom line: neither of us posted a piece challenging the park's record because things went wrong...'cause it didn't merit that kind of attack.

I got in line for Spidey around the 2-4 period you said and it was brutal. I had just gotten off that bilge rapids and was soaking wet. The line took forever, esp when we got into the final room with the large screen on the wall (watching that video 100 times really started to irritate me. That and the fat kid standing in front of me who was picking his ears and eating it). The ride itself was great, the water getting sprinkled on me and the heat was cool.

After that, we got in line for the Hulk. At least the line started inside the building. The time said 30 min on the sign but it was more like 60.

BTW, Your reports from your recent trip are a good read.

All parks are going to have problems...there is nothing you can do to avoid them..chit happens.

But from what I have experienced at going to almost 3/4 of the parks on the east is that CP does maintain its park and rides well. BGW does also. I have been going to SF parks since the age of 7..I am now almost 30 and it gets worse every year. They take out rides, and some they keep don't even work. Is that 'Freefall" contraption near the TeaCups working YET?? I don't think that ride ever worked at SFGAD..and Evolution works when it wants to. Batman and Robin always has problems and that ride hasn't been there that long. It is no longer a prototype so they should have everything working fine by now.

SF only cares about "promotion" and cares less about guest experience and ride maintenence. At least that is my opinion from the years of experience.

I still wouldn't bash a park after having one day of pure hell, but try over 19 years of it..then you can bash a park over and over again :)

"Some people need to read posts through before whining"..

and some need to learn to spell before posting too :)

Vassk, I care about his experience, but I don't care to hear about his whining, just because he had a bad day, so what, it doesn't mean the park is horrible and going down the drain.

Tell us about your day, don't whine about your day.

Looks like your whining about him whining now, joe...

...

He didn't whine about his day. You even admitted that you didn't read this entire thread. Read it. He thoroughly enjoyed his visit to the park, however he felt slighted because he paid extra money to use the venue before the general public, but most of the rides publicized weren't operating. I'd be upset too.

I know I didn't read the whole thread, as I stated in my first post, I only read his first posts.

Shy One - I knew somebody would comment about my post, then I'd comment about their post, and then get caught for whining.

Ok....This is starting to get really silly.......

IOARules: You had a bad day at CP. It happens. It doesn't mean CP is a bad park or that it shouldn't be regarded as one of the best.

Playa: You had a bad day at IOA. It happens. It doesn't mean IOA is a bad park or that it shouldn't be regarded as one of the best.

Lallen: You had a bad day at CoasterBuzz, it happens. I still love you guys anyway. ;)

Question: Six Flags PARKS (plural) or PARK (singular)? Your diatribe only mentions SFGAdv stuff.

If by "FreeFall Contraption" you mean the HUSS Jump, Jumping Jack Flash, yes, it works. I've ridden it both times I was in the park. Evolution, OTOH, I've not seen run other than in the commercials.

Chiller had problems when it first opened, yes. Then they fixed that. From what I heard, everything was fine with the ride (other than headbanging). Then they went ahead and fixed the headbanging problem. Only then (after they messed around with things) did it start to have problems again. One *could* argue that the train change is what necessitated the problems.

You had also said a loooooonnnnnggggg time ago "Cedar Point is THE best park that I have ever visited. It is clean..the staff is so friendly..no line jumpers..no nasty "teeny boppers" smoking ahead of you in the queues and blowing the smoke in your face.....they load the rides fast..and always to full capacity with just about all the trains running.

If you feel it's the best park, I wont fight you on that, it is damn fine. And they do often run "near" capacity. But just because you've been fortunate not to see smokers or line jumpers, trust me. It even happens at CP. For you to make a statement like that, gives the impression that you think that park can do no wrong.

So what can we take away from this post, boys and girls? Some small lessons and a really big and important one.

- Anyone can whine --it's all too easy

- Good citizens of CoasterBuzz don't whine nearly as much as they can

- It's even easier to be an attention ho

Speaking of which, did you read this?

Do you have to be a CB Club member to check out your link? I tried to click on it and it brought me to the login page for the club. I was at least glad to see that a face didn't pop out at me and say "nah-uh-uh" like that annoying guy from Jurassic Park. Anyways, is that the only way to access it? All your TRs have been excellent! I like the new style although the first time I saw them, I thought you were held at gunpoint everyday. Thank goodness I thought wrong. ;)

(Gasp) How could I have denied the huddled, non-member masses the chance to see the review format of the future?

What KoasterKing called -- and I quote--

Possibly the greatest TR since Moses walked down from the mountain and said, "You'll never guess what I saw?" (Okay that's pushing it)

Anyway, I said all that to say I made my link more non CB Club member-friendly. Click away, my friends....yes, click away.

You know, this attention ho thing is kinda fun.
