Cedar Point-Construction?

Though i have not yet seen them, Ive heard that there are markings and sticks by Mine Ride and over by the train tracks. Also, a CP empoylee who works on mine ride said that it likely will not be open after the summer season. I wonder if this is where they were going to build that water ride they scrapped due to maXair, i cant imagine a coaster being built next year..or even one that will take 2 years to build.

Does anyone have any pictures?

No, but hopefully something awesome will be built there. They could use something in that end of the p ark to liven it up. But, they do have a lot of water rides already..a coaster would be nice. *** Edited 7/14/2005 4:50:16 PM UTC by coasterniece***

Sticks? From trees? :)

They do have room there but if im not mistaken then that would make them build over the lagoon again, which at that point goes through the paddlewheel excursion trip. Ill be sure to give it a look this weekend when im there, but i just cant see that happening yet.

1. Paddlewheel rides have been a longstanding tradition within the park which offers non thrill seekers something else to enjoy.

2. Second wouldnt that run into Milleniums turnarounds or somewhere near that from what i see on the map i have of the park. That would be very hard to get people there and back, meaning station area in a cramped area.

It seems like a far stretch now but who knows!

I HIGHLY doubt that CCMR or Paddlewheel are going anywhere. I'll eat my own poo if either is not there next season.

There are no "sticks" aka steaks.

There is however, blue and orange markings on the ground between mine ride and snake river falls. There is also a white box spray painted on the ground next to mine rides turn into the transfer area.

The blue and orange markings start at mine rides turn into the tranfer track, and procede down the road between mr and srf.

The markings looked as if they were going around mine ride, so I doubt that mine ride is going anywere soon.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It really wouldn't surprise me if a B&M flyer was put in that area. They could easily squeeze it in without getting rid of Paddlewheel and Cedar Creek Mine Ride. They could also have part of it wrap around the MF island. Although it would be tight, I'm sure there is enough room to wrap around the island.

Or even stakes. :)

Damn it. I like steak. And it is about time CP got a friggin coaster already. I hope it's steel with lots of positive G's.
Any topic that involves one of the two age old questions What is Cedar Point building? or What time does Kennywood close? is usually a good one. Hopefully it is something significant.
There is quite a bit of area free to use on Millennium Island. If they built a coaster over there, it could also occupy some of the same area as MF if it flew over MF's low zones and possibly between it's high supports.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
Bout time for another coaster? are you kidding me? the only reason they were on that kick was the competition was building them faster. Now they own that competition. They are taking their time with things now, being that they have some breathing room with SF outta there. I'm not saying SF ever posed a major threat to them, but they weren't taking any chances.

So now they own the property and are transforming it to their style. With this said, CF I believe see great potential in having both of those parks so close. A 2 day vacation paradise in GL&WWK, and a great 2 day vacation escape at CP. This is great for people who travel far, and find that GL&WWK is the sister park of CP. It gives you that added vacation kinda like universal does for ya after you been to disney world.

So, with that said, I think that whatever it is, will be great, but I just don't see a coaster yet. I mean jeez, what would it be if it was? One must remember that they will not build any of the styles of coaster at GL, with the exception of WT,( but they built that while still in competion,) Because this is how they keep GL and CP unique to each other. They are not going to compete with themselves. They will put something fresh into each park.

I agree. I think CF should take it one step futher by eliminating duplicate rides from each park. I think Demon drop should go to another park. Steel Vemon should be transfred elsewhere. CP should offer a free shuttle service from one park to the other for guest who stay at their resorts or charge a small fee for non resort guests. One other thought Mine ride could be rebuilt at GL. freeing up land for a new coaster on it's former foot print.
Umm...no.

Just because GL is now owned by CF doesn't mean that the two parks are going to spend all of their "mad money" on moving/removing/rebuilding rides around from park to park. Each park is already unique from each other.

Uht-Oh...Better remove GL's ferris wheel because CP already has one. WHAT? CP has a log ride too? TAER IT DOWN!!!

Ridiculous, imho, respectfully and freindly-like. :)

I'm not sure about them removing a coaster....even if it was to make room for another one.

That would leave them at 16 and SFMM would just have to add one and they'd be at 17. It's kind of like how SFMM still has Flashback.

Tony and Tyler of the Cedar Point blog thingie responded to a question posed by a reader in which they said that Cedar Point has "no plans" to remove any rides at this time.

T&T work for the marketing department. Let's consider that fact.

Nothing's leaving.

When was the last time CP charged a "small" fee for anything?

Raven... don't you mean Negative G's?

Positive, is at bottom of hill. Or do you like getting crushed into your seat? Although I suppose if there is a bunch of Positive G's then it would mean it is very tall. :)

Lakecrystal, CP no longer has the speed or height record. SF does with the SBNO Kinda Ka.

I agree with everything dexter said.
