[crickets chirping]Complaints about not having 15 inversions or breaking speed/length/height records in 5... 4... 3... 2...
Dude, that's a riot..... Maybe you should host next year's Emmy's....
I think it sounds cool. I wasn't expecting 500 feet or 15 inversions - who says it has to be a record breaker? But I think OTSR's are a significant drawback - why can't we just get beyond those?
I also agree with what was said above; you can't be sure of anything until the fat lady (or fat park) sings.
Edit: I was just looking through the Screamscape "About Us" section - Read through this and see if you don't start chuckling to yourself.... *** Edited 9/1/2006 5:20:44 PM UTC by ophthodoc***
I'm definately visiting dollywood next year, it looks interesting.
So maybe if this is true, the record breaker part is the largest angle of descent, at 95.
oh well, it was fun.
Because not only is there already negative forces from the radius of the top of the drop, but now you have added forces because of gravity. I can't imagine it's going to be pleasant.

What difference is 5 degrees from vertical

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Thinking about it, didn't we see somewhere a picture of a projected vertical drop for this coaster?
It's just the angle the picture was taken at, there's a bit of clearace, both tracks are bank, and and probably be connected.

If the Screamscape info is verified, then I'm quite upset about the past-vertical drop. Such a stupid idea, especially with OTSR's.
who said there were going to be OTSR's? I can't wait to see what the train is going to look like

I think it's the most interesting ride they've put in since Raptor, but that's just me.
I agree completely. This does look awesome.

For any ride that has a beyond vertical drop, it is highly irresponsible by the park not fit OSTRs on the ride. With all the issues Intamin has been having with their pneumatic T-bar restraint system, it's a no brainer to put OSTRs... and last time I checked, there are already two inversion erected.
Yea, it's not too tall... it doesn't have the 10+ inversions, but from the looks of it, it looks to be quite fun, especially how the areas are "themed" where the coaster is making all of those tight turns. It would explain why it makes those S-turns near the train-tracks.
I'm glad someone shed some light, even if some whine that it spoils the surprise... I've been dying to know... once the official announcement is made, THEN we'll be given possibly Kieth McVeen's [Badnitrus] recreation of the coaster's concept with a POV & other views up close, as well as the cost, & if there's anything else to expect.
Another themed coaster from Cedar Point... amazing how they never had one prior to Dragster.
I agree with gomez, that really does look like Keith's work. I'm sure someone at CP is gonna be getting a major spanking soon from corporate for snapping that pic.

I'd say Disaster Transport is somewhat themed. You can even get technical and say so is the Cedar Creek Mine Ride with the station and all, but not heavily themed.
You have disturbed the forbidden temple, now-you-will-pay!!!
As for the trains speculated to be 3 cars long and hold 12 riders, it makes a lot of sense considering the shape of that bunny hop before the two corkscrews. Could you imagine a 7 car train flying over that? The difference in forces would be nuts!
