Can't we all just get along? ;) *** Edited 8/30/2006 3:51:51 AM UTC by Coasterfreak321***
As SFoGSwim touched on earlier...I would like to say from pages 56-58 I literally had to read each post twice before even attempting to understand what was being said. I don't expect anyone to use the most proper of proper english but please make what you say understandable. BandandDCO especially, This isn't Six Flags Great Adventure, we'd all appreciate it if you'd use some proper english and some common sense. ;)

BANDandDCI,

Apparently most of the posters here have PHd's in English, and they expect you to live up to their expectations. Even the slightest misspelling will be scrutinized if you rub the right person, the wrong way.

And here I thought this was all about rollerCoasters

Coasterphan - Using proper spelling and grammar is part of the Terms of Service set up by Jeff Putz, the webmaster, that EVERYONE must agree to before getting a username:

1. Spelling & Grammar usage:
There's a difference between a typo (which we all make) and chat shorthand ("r ne of u lamerz?") People like to read real, spelled out words, with capitalization and punctuation. You don't have to add pointless emphasis!!!!!!!???????!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT, we can hear you just fine. Please utilize your shift and caps lock key properly. Respect for the English language is important, and that means chat shorthand is not welcome.

This is a site about coasters. It is also a community of people and in any community there are standards by which all must adhere to.

I've just stopped guessing what this sucker is. Every time I think I have a grasp, some never-before-seen piece of track pops up and I'm back to square one. Just surprise me Snoopy.

Amen, brother Moosh. It's in The Rules! Bending them is one thing, but completely disregarding them is just not cool.

So, yeah that track piece is rather interesting. It's gotta be for some kind of braking or launch system or perhaps some other mechanical device required for this new ride. ;) *** Edited 8/30/2006 5:50:45 AM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

Advancing tires?
Im guessing a Mid Launch that is under a Dual Loading station (like Kingda Ka)
The more I attend coster events, and the more I meet and see others in the coaster community the more I wonder. There seems to be such a lack of respect and down right joy in the down fall of others. What a community. There is such a joy some take in correcting others. I can only assume this is to make up for other things. To some degree this is present in a lot of groups, just more so in ours.
Ok, who put up a station roof support in the middle of the coaster track? At least, that's what that piece looks like ...

... when I saw that thing sitting in the staging area, I think about the very last place I thought it would go would be inline with the rest of the track. I'm stumped.

We take joy in a community that is filled with thoughtful, entertaining, engaging conversation.

When someone comes into that community with poor grammar, and ideas that may be a bit off base, we're just not going to let things slide down to that standard. I can think of a few coaster sites where this guy would fit *right* in but at Cbuzz, it's just not going to last. Sorry.

In theory, you COULD just ignore the posts that make no sense, then the bad grammar & such would just... go away. Otherwise, more time spent on correcting others English 101, is less time spent on talking about "Maverick" (8 days & counting).

For Mean-Streak, I have rode the coaster after a good rain, and it's ONLY then of which the coaster actually ran smoothly. It flew on the track and felt better than ever! Once the track swells from the rain, the train hugs the track that much better and rides good... otherwise, it's so painful, that I literally have to take some drugs afterwards to ease it & make it the rest of the day there.

For Maverick... Cedar Point isn't known to introduce new train styles. They may have SLIGHT variations on the trains, but nothing extreme or different. A floorless won't make sense because it rises too high off the track vs. a traditional sit-down and would be coming awfully close to those support beams & even track itself.
The only trains that make sense are traditional sit-down trains with a light shoulder harness that you can feel very comfortable, yet secure in.... overweight guests need not apply, unfortunately.

I still say some kind of traditional lift will be involved... cable, chain, or even a slow LIM to the top (is that possible?).

A slow LIM System, while intriguing, is not possible. The only way the speed on a LIM is controlled is by how far apart each LIM is and how long the LIM run is. That said, it could be possible to stretch out the LIM every fifty or so feet, but it would be a very awkward experience. When you hit the LIM, you would speed up and then slow down due to friction.
Well, my bad, If this isn't a forum with different opinions, and mine happens to be the one that everyone doesn't understand, because you can't see it happening in your head. But proper english? I'm sure if you're trying to tear me down, you could just ask me to leave wile you're at it. I'd think, people who knew about coasters would respect others, but some of you, it's just rediculous how you feel you're superior to others. But on the internet, I guess you meet alot of people. My guess is you're all in your forties and 50s, some in their 30s, who feel they got coaster facts down and know it like the back of their hand. If you do, guess this coaster to its entirety. But since you can't, you might as well, look at other people's ideas and prove them wrong, or revise them so you can come up with new ones. Some of you need to put out your own ideas and get out your own world of know-it-all city.

well, it cut out my part about the track piece, but in short, I think that straight peice before the weird one is like the straight away track that allows people to see the train before it's launches.

But there was a show a while ago, that talked about lims, and I believe it said, you can control the frequency of the negavive and positive charges. But I can't remember if that's entirely true. But I think another cable lift would be fun.

And Dawgbyte, do you think this is the coaster that Cedar Point will allow the overweight hefty crowd to ride. Because MF and TTD are pretty much for the healthy-sized population. *** Edited 8/30/2006 12:55:47 PM UTC by BANDandDCI***

Dude, not trying to tear you down. I'm interested in hearing what everyone has to say. Just please make an effort to post your thoughts in a clear and understandable manner.

I agree that some of us are total asses about correcting people sometimes. I'm sure some of it is intentional, but often times it's not. It just comes across that way due to the limitations of this form of communication. Don't let it get you down. Keep on posting your thoughts. Just show respect for THE RULES. :)

Definately not for people with back problems.

Not necessarily. I've had back surgery and I still ride Mean Streak and Son of Beast (well, obviously not lately). Neither one bothers me. But, I'm not about to quit riding coasters until I exit one and my back aches. FYI, I have two titanium rods in my back and if I happen to get injured, then so be it. I wouldn't sue a park over this unless there was a defect in the ride, bad maintenance, poor materials, or fault of the park in some way. Sorry, guess that was a little rant. It just bothered me the other day when someone had said in another thread that anyone with a pre-existing condition should not be allowed to ride. I know of mine and I know the chances I take. But, isn't that what life is all about? Taking chances?
