Cedar Point '07 Project

Ok, I'll do it ... Raptor's in the same league as Corkscrew. Back seat through the cobra roll's as bangy as any other inversion in the park. Front's pretty smooth though, but big difference front to back. Not that that keeps me from riding in the back, but I also love Corkscrew and enjoy the occasional Mantis ride.

**eerrrrrnnnnttt** INCORRECT! Raptor isnt rought whatsoever anywhere. If you think its rough then you obviously think coasters should ride like a Lexus. Stop whining.
Wow, between posts like that and your "input" to the Knoebles trip report, I can't remember the last time we had a new member who was so abrasive.

And that's saying something.

Um, actually, Raptor is smoother through the Cobra Roll in the middle to very back of the train. the front car kinda lags over the Cobra Roll and it bangs your head, in my experience anyways...

I disagree, I think Raptor CAN offer a less than smooth ride if you sit in the back seat (mostly on the Cobra roll); but I consider this green beauty THE END ALL BE ALL OF INVERTED COASTER BLISS and it remains at the top of my list for its speed, even pacing, and brilliant layout.

Impulse-ive: Raptor in the same league as Corkscrew??? Who you kiddin?

Ophthodoc - you must not have been on Talon at Dorney yet. I think that is the best inverted I have been on. Though I do like the Batman clones better than Raptor.

^Talon is hands down my least favorite B&M invert. Different strokes.
I always ride back seat on Corkscrew and have rarely come off with pain in my ears. The same cannot be said for the back seat of Raptor. Talon is the end all be all of inverted coaster bliss for its speed, even pacing and brilliant layout. Raptor suffers from the same fate as Alpengeist, inverted coasters are at their best when they're small and compact, not long and drawn out.

And since the top coasters on my list, of any structure type, are Voyage and Legend, expressly for the fact that they jostle you around like a rag-doll (without hurting), please explain how my tastes demand "a Lexus-smooth (or should I say, Toyota smooth) ride"? If you think Raptor is smooth now, then you obviously weren't riding it back when it really was smooth.

Everyone has their own preferences and persuading others that their picks are wrong/stupid/etc. is a waste of time.
Dueling Dragons is THE END ALL BE ALL OF INVERTED COASTER BLISS. The Fire side has some awsome close contact with the Ice side.

Second on my list is Alpengeist because of all the scenery and trees. Also because of it's size and speed.

Therd on my list is Great White (a B:TR clone) at Sea World San Antonio. The reason is because there are hundered of misters all around the layout. Also because it stays realy colse to the ground with all the bushes and trees.

^ Funny you should mention DD. Probably out of ALL the B&M inverts I've ridden, the worst ride, typically, has been Ice Dragon. I had it as the *bottom of the Beema barrel*...alongside of...Great White.

Last trip, Ice seemed more than tolerably smooth, all of a sudden...sometime next year I'll get another shot at GW - taking some people to Schlitterbahn.

Back to CP '07....I guess with these inversions popping up, it's time to go ahead and eliminate Aquatrax? ;)

Maybe they're making a new type of coaster and merging Aquatrax with a regular looper? JK

I guess it's time to go back to my original theory & guess since curvy tri-angluar track has started showing... it really looks like an inversion record.

12 inversions. Red track...
Traditional lift hill? Why not? I certainly hope it is.

I don't get pain in my ears from Corkscrew, I get pains in my neck because I'm tall. A pain in the neck is a lot worse than a pain in the ear.

Also, I agree with what you said about Alpengeist, it's just so-so because it's not tight and compact. Raptor is much more so, though. Although I have not been on Patriot, I have heard it's the "end all be all" - maybe a repeat trip to Dorney is due :) ?

I go to school in Kansas and the Patriot is a great B&M Invert. Very fast, intense, and there are some good moments of airtime. The ride looks amazing as well. That plus there's never a line..
get ready to ride the tallest inverted coaster with the most inversions!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^No kidding, where are they building that?
Sea World Ohio

Cool, I would go to Sea World Ohio more often but I have the hardest time getting directions.
Its not far from six flags Ohio.
