Cedar Point '07 Project

Oh shoot, I meant inverted. Because it banks one way for an invert yet goes the other way, however, if you flip the track so that the connector is on the bottom, it banks the same way it turns. It is not inverted.

He's saying it's not invert and it's tri-track so it's not launched.

It's also probably not an invert because almost every piece is curved towards the rails. This would be a LOT of negative G's for an invert but a more natural configuration for a sitdown.

cofan, it could also be the base of a corkscrew/batwing midsection as well.

.....what? You're right and we're wrong?
The pic that cofan linked to does NOT prove it's a looper. All it proves is that there is a lot of twisted track on location. I've seen some pictures of pretty twisted track on Intamin coasters that never invert. *** Edited 6/22/2006 8:58:06 PM UTC by Coasterbuzzer***
I'm not saying its a looper. All i am saying is that its not inverted. When I say not invert, it does not mean that it goes upside down.

^666 replies. If only it had happened on 6/6/06, it would have been a sine!!!!111

A sine wave?

OMG sine waves??? Corkscrews! lol
It definitely won't be inverted, after seeing the way the track banks. It will probably have inversions, or many very, very steep turns/helices. Have we ruled out the possibility of it being something like Storm Runner?

I was referring to Touchdown's comment that your photo proves it's a looper. Sorry for the confusion.

Well, obviously the track is for a kids coaster going in another section of the park. The footers everyone are taking pictures of are for one of the Six Flags Magic Mountain coasters.

Maybe even for Flashback!!!! OMG!!!

^^ I think that I used the wrong term somewhere previusly also. I meant it would go upside down, not necessarily the train being inverted.

We forgive you, coasterb. :)

*I allways thought Magnum and Raptor were longer and I have a hard time believing that MF is a longer ride then either of them, but thats what the stats say. So Ill adjust it to 2 mins.

MF is not that long. I timed it both in person and on the POV on CP's site and came up with about a minute less. A while back I emailed the park about it (must have been really board) and they did not respond, but a few days later they changed the stat. I still think they are overclaiming it.

Cedar Point The Amazement Park
Maybe the new coaster will be a suspended looping custom like this one!

^Why do you still want an inverted coaster? The park has one of the best inverts in the world in Raptor allready, however for years people have said how they miss having a good ol' sitdown mega looper in the park (they have corkscrew, thats it.)

I still think a floorless, flying or a new woodie would be simply amazing. A suspended raptor, stand-up mantis and a floorless like no other would make my hair stand on end. I think it's time for CP to invest in a new upside down scream machine. I have not seen B&M in the park in a long time. Why is that?
