Cedar Point '07 Project

Any coaster can fit anywhere if the designers get creative. Case in point: Great Bear and Cornball express. They absolutely shoehorned those things in, through, and around so many existing rides and buildings it's amazing.

The park at MOA!!!

I like rides incorporated (sp) with each other.
I think CP is getting the same Intamin "prototype" that Port Aventura in spain is supposed to get in 2007. Basically a rocket coaster with 4d style trains. With the recent signs... the aquatrax is not likely at all.

Forget the ball coaster.. those don't have turns in all the layouts shown. *** Edited 5/15/2006 5:49:09 AM UTC by Absimilliard***

Back to the "going in a new direction"...

Maybe the new direction isn't forward/backward, up/down, or left/right. How about, uhh.... whatever the fourth dimension is.... spinning??

Just a thought.

What do you think is the best B&M. I like the Tenesee Tornado at dollywood.

ya know as far as prototypes, when they built Stealth, they used the park installation for testing and such. So early building could be to aid in testing and such. If it is a new type of coaster. Of course, it is nice to be ahead of schedule, tested and ready before opening day.
I'm thinking Absimilliard may be on to something with this being like the Port Aventura ride. I did some hunting around on the web and saw some patent pictures of the ride vehicle and it has a striking similarity to an Arrow 4D. Also, the P.A. ride construction follows a similar timeline. So yes, this may be a prototype, but not necessarily the guinea pig model.
coasterfreaky.....Got any links?

Scroll down, way down to the patent picture - not the cartoon.

It looks like those seats may be fixed, but...?? *** Edited 5/15/2006 6:02:48 PM UTC by coasterfreaky***

All that looks like (to me) is a normal coaster where the seats are just furthur away from the track. It's almost like sitting on the wings of an airplane.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
^There's that. And the center of gravity is different - and more exagerated, and also there's no floor. And I cant quite tell if the seats move around (ala 4-D).

I think this is what you were refering to about the Stengel design,

Cool link, but isn't that basically Xcelerator?

Millennium Force Laps-169 **Vertigo Launches-21** Dragster Launches-53
When you compare the layout of that Stengel design, it looks strikingly like the area of the footers.

Obviously it's not the exact layout, but could be very similar. The onyl way to make that kind of layout interesting would be a 4D or special-train type of ride.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Check out this patent for an inverted wooden coaster.

Also, plug in random coaster manufacturers and such into the seach engine on that site. It gives some fun results! :)

The tarps have come off the track in case no one here saw it.

It maybe could be a new type of rollersoaker like at HP. I think that'd be cool.
Actually, it could be like the inverted water coaster half way down the page...
