Cedar Point '07 Project

oh yeah... that's right. Maybe Intamin is coming out with a new type of coaster that goes sideways (90 degrees). Other than that, can anyone tell in the pics if there are and tight twisting pieces of track or wide parts for loops and stuff?
Why cant anyone just wait and see. there are straight pieces that could be the pull-out of a hill, and there are several twisted pieces as well. It could be anything people!! (other than something not made by Intamin)

I dont understand why anyone cant accept something at face value?

Because as humans we are never satisfied with what we have. they could show us every pice of track on the coaster and we would want there to be more. *** Edited 5/17/2006 2:58:39 AM UTC by fearless ben***

In the video clip, I find it amusing that they put "Intamin AG or B&M?, You Decide." - Herrooo - We know Already!

So true....i bet nothing changes even after they announce what it is *** Edited 5/17/2006 2:51:38 PM UTC by GothamJ***

Well with the clues, track color and just a guess, I am still thinking a 'Stormrunner' type of ride. But with Jeff's podcast comments, will this be their first coaster (maybe that is a record) that will not break a record.
What does the track color have anything to do with what it will be?

Yellow track? its gotta be an intamin impulse!

Blue track? its gotta be a giga coaster!

Red track? its gotta be like storm runner?

that makes as much sense as 2+2=4D (because technically (2+2)D=4D)

LOL Gotham...I love how some people read more into the situation than exists or see patterns where there are none.
HaHa I Love this entire site. What if Cedar Fair pulls the wool over everyones eyes and and and a... builds their next Record breaker at Worlds of Fun! HaHa gotta Love Speculation.
why is CP keeping it such a big secret though? Why not just tell us and get on with making the new coaster?

Just as the marketing does not dictate the construction schedule, the construction progress does not dictate the marketing of the project.

Conventional wisdom says that you don't announce a big addition for the *next* season at the beginning of the *current* season.

The very last thing you want to do is give folks a reason for putting off their visit for a year.

It also may have something to do with competition amongst parks. TTD was not announced until just a few months before it opened. I don't remember exactly when, but TTD was fully constructed before any announcement was made. This ride has a long ways to go before it's at that point.

Already done.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

^^^But not for the people who don't follow things like this closely. Which is just about everybody.
Right. The *vast* majority of guests won't have any idea that CP is building anything until they get to the back 1/3 of the park. And, as we all know, there are no rainchecks or refunds once you have entered the park.

Not that you're average park goer isn't going to do much more than say "Oh look honey looks like they're building something new! Wonder what its gonna be," and then saunter off to wherever they were going.
I think that the record that the new coaster breaks is not going to be that big of a record.

Or is it??? ;-)

So instead of breaking a record for either tallest, longest, or fastest it'll break the record for slowest or shortest?
^ I cannot wait for the worlds slowest coaster!!!!! ;)
