Cedar Fair and B&Ms

Boomerang at Valleyfair? Is that hidden over by Excalibur somewhere? It must've been washed away in the flood.
Another brain fart, I meant WOF not Valleyfair, DOH! Man and I haven't even had a beer tonight.

no, I kind of live by VF, and I have never heard of a boomerang coaster there either. The only past coaster they have is Rails.

MagnumForce- FYI, the boomerang @ WOA was made in 2000, so it was definantily made after CF was formed.

Yeah I know, thats what I said excpet I said Valleyfair when I meant WOF.

You really need to learn to use the edit and delete buttons there.

Geez what a cluster $%$$

I would say that Intamin (or any other ride firm) would make it more inticing for a park/chain to purchase more than one at any time. We're not neccessarily talking a discount. The may sell two $12m rides for $20m in a contract to construct them over two or three years. The catch (not really a catch though, more a downside) would probably be that you can't change your mind on the second ride when Competitor Park #4 (if you've never been, you need to get out more) gets a ride with more appeal, whereas if you purchased them seperately, you could adjust your plans before you sign anything for the second ride.

Look at what Boomerang did for WOF

What did Boomerang do for WOF?

Give it the title of "crappiest color scheme"?

Yellow, Orange, and Pink...hmmm...

How is that not a discount? Just like "Buy one, get the second one half off!" I wonder if parks can lease with an option to buy?

You must be this dumb to ride Viper. -SFGAdv.

Going back to the whole B&M argument, Cedar Fair will buy a B&M when they damn well feel like it. The difference, is that they make sure their additions can pay for themselves within a reasonable amount of time...not 3010. VF, WOF and MIA will not ever get the cap budgets CP and Knotts get....we must face that fact. Even with that, remember what 'Playa said in regards to VF caps.

Missouri already has two good B&M's, B:TR & Wildfire. I have to admit, although B:TR has so many clones, it is still a great ride. Most MO' folks don't even realize who built Batman, Wildfire or Mamba, they just know they are fun.

Sorry Matt that was ment to be a sarcastic comment

I love the B&M's! My husband likes them more than some of the Intamins, including Millennium Force. He was willing to ride Raging Bull all day at SFGAm, and we spent 3 of our 4 rides on the fast pass on RB.

I wouldn't kick at all if CF put in a couple B&M's at CP and MiA.

WOF getting a B&M would be dream come true.

Ya it would be a dream come true, It might attract a few people, but probobly not enough to make a profit, bucause like said earlier, there are 2 B&Ms in MO already.

Not likely that the deal would be "buy one get one free". NOT realisitic...these machines are COSTLY to build. But, if I'm picking up three (or four) GIBs at once, I wouldn't be afraid to ask for a volume discount....if I bought more, or asked for it LOUDLY, maybe the *volume discount* would even grow...;). Seriously, we're looking more likely at saving a million or two on a $20M purchase...still not bad...

I kept away from the word discount, because it isn't like buy two and recieve a 16% discount, buy three and it's 20%. Time for one of my fastfood analogies I think. If you buy a 'Value Meal' from Burger King or McDonalds, you don't consider it to be a discount because you only pay $6 for the whole meal, instead of $8 for each item seperately. True, you get a better deal for buying them together, but would you really call it a discount?

Cedar Fair hasen't boughten an Arrow since 1999. I'd rather see a new Arrow before a Boring & Meaningless.

I guess he would have 'forgouhten' VF's Arrow Mad Mouse (purchased in '99) too.

Ok, so Im a bad speller. :P
No, I was refering to Vallyfairs Mouse, erected in 1999.

I said Erected! Tee Hee!

Of the 25 B&M's I have been on, only a few have rocked my world. I just get off of too many thinking: "Eh...next" or "Ow!" Of course, this is a matter of "Opinion"

I have gotten off of plenty of Arrows and Intamins and thought "Bleah" as well.
