Don't all B&Ms invert at some time other than the verticle drop coaster and their hyper coaster? So Cedar Point is a little past a hyper coaster and Cedar Fair is known for not going after the newest amusement inovation (verticle coaster). Wasn't it around 11 years after the first stand up coaster, Cedar Point got Mantis. Inversions obviosly lower ridership, and therefore the income into the park.
I think Intamin has been able to focus more on ride layouts as with height, speed and prepulsion.
B&M has more or less gone after the orientation of the rider from the train: floorless, stand up, flying, etc.
I think this has guided Cedar Fair's check book.

I am embarassed for you. If you must sleep through a class, pick something other than English.
Well, fine. Be embarassed for me... this is a discutional
forum and if you feel the need to insult sombody for
contibuting to a discution, then you need some help, or
something better to do with your time. My lack of time
dictates the way a post will look. Typing quickly inbetween
classes talking about what i love the most should not be a
reason to insult sombody. Sorry i don't have loads of time
to edit every thing i type. I know this will have mistakes
becuase it is almost one in the morning but really who
cares. If you can't read it cause it is a big block of text,
sorry i will double space it, but the lack of editing is the
result of having a busy life. Next time you go to insult
sombody step back and relize. You are posting on a
forum, it really does not matter, nobody really cares if you
think you are smarter or more important than they are.
hmmm....
for some odd reason I thought this was a discussion board, not a discutional board. Perhaps I was wrong...
Should we go "TAER it Down" now?
Oh God, how long before the "bootlegged cheeseburgers" return.... LoL

That's actually not a bad idea.
Arlok2, we would appreciate proper spelling and puncuation. However you can do this, please do. Thanks! :)

I think that CF should get a Floorless, or Flyer, because they already have an Inverted and Standup, but either of those would be good to have again at a different CF park.
Of all of the CF parks, I think that MIA is probobly the one that truley deserves a B&M the most, I know that they have one of the greatest woodies around, but they really need a B&M, VF probobly needs a B&M as much as MIA, eccept, now that they are getting SV, I dont need to complain until 2004!
A typo or two is understandable. A complete disregard of the English language is ridiculous.
And while I appreciate others who feel the same way I do, don't go correcting him while butchering your own posts.
I never claimed to be smarter than anyone else here. If this were a board that required math skills I wouldn't even post. However, since reading is necessary to continue the conversation, and typing is necessary to get one's point across, putting a little effort into it is not too much to ask.
I thingk wahu has a gud point...sumtimez it ken be hard to reed some uf the poasts heer when peepul show a towtle dysriguard fur the Inglisch langwage...;).
Seriously, a typo or two and a random misspelling are certainly excusuable, and *should* be excused without comment, but then there are the other times...where all rules of netiquette are simply ignored....this is NOT directed at arlok2, more of a general message for those who may have been waiting for one...;)
In the real world, a park 'deserves' a new ride when the management can demonstrate enough operational competence to get the thing publicized and paid off. Then of course, they have to have a large enough market to draw enough people to do that.
The parks that draw a million visitors a year are just barely able to justify that kind of expenditure. With a much larger potential audience than the others, Dorney was the first to get one. VF just spent $8.5 million this year, so '04 looks like the next possible opportunity. If they really dazzled CF with a strong season next year, there's a slim chance WOF can pull off an Intamin Impulse in '03. B&M? I doubt it.
At 400,000 visitors a year, there's just no chance MA would get a $14 million dollar budget. But there's plenty of great things you can do for less than $5 million....

Why do you keep calling Worlds of Fun "WOA"?
I was waiting for 'Playa to lay out the numbers. I would disagree, however that MIA "deserves" a B & M the most. I don't even think my home park (and former employer) deserves one the most, WOF. If any park in the chain needs one, it Knotts or CP. We have to face facts, WOF, VF, and MIA do not currently have the draw necessary to allow the investment to be paid off in a reasonable amount of time. You must also look at those parks competition. For the most part...there isn't much.
By adding a new B & M (or any brand for that matter) to Knotts or CP, you will hopefully continue to draw a substantial attendance. Although CP won't see a 22% increase like HW, they need to at least maintain their current numbers. Knott's, by adding a coaster (or any thrill ride), can continue to stregthen and poise itself as a destination that appeals to all groups. In turn, the company as a whole can be strengthened (although that is not a current concern...check the dividends) which would reap rewards throughout the chain.
That is one of the things I like best about the CF company. They know how to run and improve a park without sacrificing the balance and financial integrity of the company. By expanding slowly and remaining somewhat cautious about expenditures, they are able to consistently make money and improve their parks.
Although I do like B & M creations, for the $14 mil that one might cost...you could get a couple of great woodies with change left over. I think WOF & VF have enough metal....let's get some good wood!
