See what happens when I leave my computer for a few minutes? A co-worker of mine was reading through this thread and had no idea people could get so worked up over this type of thing. "Isn't a good coaster a good coaster, no matter who the stupid designer is"? Leave it to the "GP" to bring it home once again. ;)

It takes about 3-4 years of planning a new roller coaster, it's not something you do a year in advance...

Joe, if you don't think an *OT chuckle* IS a contribution, how on Earth can you stand reading through ALL my *meaningless* posts...;)
I guess the ones I really don't like are the Batman Inverts and the stand ups excluding Georgia Scorcher

What I mean is all of their designs seem to use the same inversions in roughly the same order, for instance most of their coasters that contain inversions dive straight into a vertical loop at the beginning, a lot of them do twin corkscrews, all their stand ups have dive loops, all of their stand ups have inclined loops, all of their stand ups have corkscrews.
Well a lot of Arrow's have double corkscrews, a uh lot of Vekoma's seem to have sea serpents, a lot of Intamin's have overbanked turns, a lot of Schwarzkopf's have vertical loops. And trust me, a lot of coasters dive straight into vertical loops.
And no, Iron Wolf doesn't have a inclined loop or diving loop.
The same order? Name five.
Paramount hasn't gotten an Intamin in a long time, what's your point?

S00perGRL, There are a lot of B&M coasters with the same ganeric layout, 5 of these would be:
MESUSA WEST
MEDUSA EAST
KUMBA
SCREAM
SUPERMAN at WBMW
and SUPERMAN KRYPTON COASTER
there are more with roughly the same layout, and I do know that all arrows, schwarzkopfs, and vekomas have a lot of the same layouts. But wickedtwister180 was talking about B&M!

"Yes, CP could also need a B&M, or atleast a coaster that goes upsidown, because CP only has 3 inverting coasters out of 16!"
See, I still don't get that argument. Blackpool has 11 coasters, and what, one inversion in the whole park?
Still looks like a pretty good park to me.

B&M!
The only coasters with the same layout (above) are Kumba and Medusa East. Scream! may also have that layout, but that's still pretty much unknown right now (as far as I know anyway).
Some major differences:
-Medusa West has a sea serpent, corkscrews are not interlocking
-WBMW's Superman has an immelman, an airtime hill, and no midcourse brakes
-Superman Krypton Coaster does not have a diving loop and features a midcourse helix/drop
-Kraken has a second vertical loop instead of two flatspins
-Raptor does not have a dive loop/immelman
-Montu has a batwing and a second vertical loop (not two flatspins)
As has been explained before, B&M's often follow similar inversion order due to speeds necessary to accomplish the maneuvers. There are *plenty* of differences between rides, as well as exceptions to the "rules" (like Alpengeist).

Why does every no-clue person wants to invert on a roller coaster? Some of the best themeparks in the world haven't got a single inversion. As PT300 said before, Blackpool only has one ride that inverts, an Arrow shuttle loop. Europa-Park hasn't got any inversion rides at all, and Phantasialand only has one inversion ride, a classic pukeride. It's not the inversion that make a park top-quality, it's the entourage, the theming and the rides. A non-inversion ride can be just as good (or even better) as an inversion ride!

BTW, Knotts is looking (or they might have chosen one by now) at 3 manufacturers for their invert: Intamin, B&M, and a new company that sprung off of vekoma, kumBac. Does anyone know anything about KumBac coasters?
