I'd be suprised, frankly, if either park got an impulse. I think the only reason Cedar Point got one was because the parks lines are spread out quite a bit more then Worlds of Fun or Valleyfair. I know at Valleyfair the lines basically just exist at Power Tower and Wild Thing.

Well lines at WOF are mainly at Mamba, Detonator, Fury of the Nile, Timberwolf, and (since it's new) Thunderhawk.
I just don't think the low RPH would generate a very high ROI for the park. To me, a beemer would make more sense for both parks.

'Low PPH' at CP is not Low PPH at VF or WOF.
VF consistently draws a million or more a year, but you can usually count the days it needs both trains on the Corkscrew, Excalibur and High Roller on your fingers. During the rest of the season, this tiny park where everything's a short walk away does just fine with 600 PPH coasters.
I could see where a Boomerang might be overwhelmed on busy days, but 1000 PPH suits a smaller park just fine.

The could have it go over the Camper Village
I don't think the people using the campgrounds would appreciate that too much if they were trying to sleep.

Greg, thank you for your common sense. Why in the world would they build a coaster over a campground? Why not just run it right through the campers for crying out loud?"

The turn around is what i meant not the whole ride.

However, Playa you got to remember that 1000 pph is the Twisters PPH with a crew at CP. At Valleyfair we only have two to three loaders tops. The capacity per hour, I'm guessing wouldn't be as high.-----------------

Maybe on Excalibur or Corkscrew...but a VF WT crew is about as large as a CP WT crew. Count heads--you'll see.
Even half that capacity would suffice for a park with a draw like VF or WOF most days of the season.

Well I just got done chatting with an area sup from WOF, that's the most I will say about him to help keep his/her ID annoymous. Anyway, there will NOT be a WT a WoF in the next two years (or maybe ever). They are getting a flat ride for next year (already signed the contract) and they are working on sealing a deal with a large corporation for a major ride in 2004. That's all I know right now. He/She would not give me a straight answer regarding if next year's flat ride would be a Huss Frisbee like it's been rumored. I might get more info in June, that's when I found out about THawk was actually going to be added.
To get to the PPH you are talking about CPlaya. WOF almost always runs their coasters at max capacity. The only exception would be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during weekly operation. Granted this is the "new" max capacity. When HME owned the park, Orient Express and Timber Wolf ALWAYS ran with 3 trains. I haven't seen the third trains for those coasters and Mamba for years now.

Are roller coasters my life? NO, but I certainly like them!

Mamba; The inspiration for SD2K. It doesnt get much better than that. Come to the Midwest;and ride the most underrated coaster in the U.S.

When did American Eagle get more airtime than Viper?
IMHO, S:TE is not all that great of a ride, and I got quite bored with it. I guess when you have gone that fast on the interstate before (without the magnets :) ) you tend to get "underwhelmed" by something like that.
CP will never get a "non-coaster" ;)

CPlaya, since I've worked at Corkscrew the last 3 years, I know that it went up to two trains almost every Saturday during midnight closes, and usually about twice a week besides that last year, which wasn't a very busy year. The PPH with one train is a little over 700, and with two trains it's 1300. Ex on the other hand, went up to two trains maybe twice, and High Roller went up to two maybe 5-7 less times than Cork. I know that you were just making a joke about how slow it is there, but we do go up to two trains quite a bit.
On the whole competition thing, VF doesn't have any, but they still could use something so people from further away come to the park. It's pretty easy to travel all over the country, so every park is kind of in competition with every other park.
A manager at VF told us during training we will "get something cool" next year. If that's a roller coaster or not, I don't know. But we will get something. It's just when you think of something cool, a coaster comes to my mind.

Especially after just opening an inverted "non-coaster. ;)
Anyhoo, I'm really surprised that no one has thrown in the B&M floorless posibility yet.

And when Corkscrew goes to two trains this results in a wait of....how many minutes?
I somehow wound up in the park on a ridiculously heavy Saturday in '00 (multiple corporate picnics, 28K presold, cars parked all the way back to the dorms) and waited no more than 10, 15 minutes tops.
During the same time, Mad Mouse (800 or so PPH) was no more than a half-hour wait according to the seven or eight other groups of friends who had been at the park since opening that day.
This is why I say a 1000 PPH ride isn't going to cause a major hardship at the smaller parks....just plain simple observation. CP's issues are not VF's issues, DP's issues or WOF's issues.

Fine you can have a WT clone, I sure don't won't one at WOF, we already have low pph ride. If that's what you want for VF, more power to you. However in the long run it will hurt you. I know CP's pph is not our pph problems, but that is only looking at it in the short term future and as you said running it with adequete staffing, something that is not always the case on days that they deem as "slower" days.
