Cedar Fair 2003

If Cedar Point were to get another big rollercoaster where would they put it?
The could have it go over the Camper Village
Try where the plot where they took out Dodgems I this season...

(pictured here: http://www.thepointol.com/openingday/6.jpg )

There is already much speculation on what it might be, and why there are footers there so early in the season over at GTTP.

How about the removal of the area that was bernstine bear country. Snoopy is the Cedar Fair kiddie stuff so why have the old. Camp Snoopy area is the main concentration of kiddie stuff now.

I would think no one did. So if VF is NOT getting a beemer next year, what are they getting? Since you are on the "inside" I'm sure you may have a little insight. I'm not positive on beemer for WOF in 2004, I almost am leaning to a Xcelerator type coaster and here is why. The mainteance people at WOF (very knowledgable in the going around), said to look for a major attraction at WOF in 2004 where the forum was. They said it would be a Millennium Force style coaster, as in made by Itamin. Now understand mainteance people don't keep up with the certain types of coasters, but they do recognize track types. I'm wagering whatever it is it will be built by Itamin. Also the same people I jsut discussed knew almost 2 years in advance about Mamba, and I knew about THawk, in 2001 (did you know it was originally planned to be added along with Camp Snoopy). Now I know that doesn't give me credibility, but it's the truth and it can be taken as a grain of sand for all I care.

I don't think the people using the campgrounds would appreciate that too much if they were trying to sleep.

My guesse's for Valleyfair in the next 3 years with Larry being the new general manager. Expect to see a new coaster in 2003 probably will see some more upgrades and improvements with the park it self, 2004 probably a new flat ride maybe a huss top spin like Mighty Ax than in 2005 maybe perhaps CCI, another out an out back coaster or B&M will come to Valleyfair ;).

What would the new coaster be if they don't get a beemer next year? They alredy have a wild mouse, the only two things it could be would be a B&M or an Impulse.

I never said Valleyfair wasn't getting a B&M either. Really, fact of the matter was if I knew for sure what the park was getting I wouldn't tell CBuzz until I was allowed too, and if I didn't know what's going on I wouldn't say anything until after the ride was announced so that I don't end up eating crow down the line. (Wow was that all one sentence. Yikes.)

There could be a hundred of other coasters VF could build for next year that haven't been mentioned, they could build an Arrow 4D, a Setpoint Swing Thing, a Thrust Air, the list could go on and on.

I was going on the Seem to be Cedar Fair trend. (ala hyper and invert)
Here's a thought, maybe VF is NOT going to get a coaster in 2003....YES I SAID IT! Hate my guts now, but it is a possibility.

Its definetly a possibility Swoosh, and I'm really not discounting it, as its always possible. However we do know that VF will get something next year, so us fanboys always like to speculate that a coaster is a sure thing.

On a side note it seems like you have pulled a complete 180 Swoosh, was it just me, or was it earlier in the thread you were shooting down people who said that VF wasn't getting a coaster.

I don't think that I would consider it as "shooting down" people. However, yes I thought that the beemer for VF was a sure thing. I almost want it to be, because that give s WOF (my home CF park) more support on getting one for themselves. BUT, now that I have been thinking about it...VF has NO competition, whereas WOF has SFStL and SDC, two "coaster" parks anymore. Neither of those two look to be letting up either (sounded like SFStL has already put in a proposal for a hyper in '03, and SDC looks to be getting a CCI), so why would CF:LP spend money for a beemer at VF when they don't have to add something flashy to bring people in? WOF needs this to get the market back. They have been loosing people to SFStL since Hurricane Harbor was added. This may be the year.

I say this, but then I know for a fact that WOF is NOT getting a coaster in 2003. Whatever.

So are you saying I'm a turn coat? ;)

If Cedar Fair deems this true then it would put more behind Valleyfair! getting an Impulse. But an B&M invert would be more twards Cedar Fair style.

Greg, thank you for your common sense. Why in the world would they build a coaster over a campground? Why not just run it right through the campers for crying out loud?

I'm confused, why would this put more behind VF getting the Impulse? Wouldn't this put more behind WOF getting a coaster as opposed to VF? AND, if CFLP does not think this true, they will be in for a rude awakening soon if not already.

VF may not have competition, but it does have an excellent track record with million+ attendance year after year despite a shorter season than everyone but MA. So money spent there will bring the expected return.

IMHO, I think WOF is far more likely to get an Impulse than VF simply because there's a fair amount of B&M steel in Missouri already. A WT clone could be marketed as the tallest, fastest launched coaster in the Midwest instead of 'Hey, look what we just got, too.'

The last thing WOF needs is another low rph ride. Also it still wouldn't be "the tallest" in the state (unless it is the height of WT), MR FREEZE is the tallest coaster in the state (well the very tip of the spike is). Also considering that there is only two beemers in the state (at the competition's parks) would that be even more of a reason to add one? Only a little bit taller, a little bit longer, a little bit flashier? I believe that is the CFLP way of doing business.
