Can Cp get another woodie?

So does PKI with SoB (and technically, in our terms listed here, Adventure Express).
And Lil Dipper at Camden Park. lol.
Villain @ GL is a piece of crap. And what kind of woodie is that? Steel supports and wood laminated track? The steel supports take away from the ride feel and the steel supports just look awful. But I am guessing its slightly easier on the maintenace pocketbook. I prefer the side to side shuffling of MS to the vertical pounding of Villian.

As much as I like Mean Streak, I would be happy to see it go for an intense compact wooden roller coaster. It seems that all these parks that have the GCI installations are a hit. Now, couldn't CP market a ride like Hades that has a 90 degree curve? The Gravity Group would/should/could be a welcome addition to CP.

You clearly never rode Villain the first two years.

I like the diss at Villain for the steel support structure and then a plea for a coaster like Hades. Hmmm? Steel support structure and laminated wood track are nowhere to be found on Hades, just look:

GCI's are compact? That's another noggin' scratcher! :)

Yeah is Good!

Jeff - I rode Villain its opening year. Nice first two drops, then a crappy, rampy layout. No problem w/the G-trains then but I still only rode twice and went back to Dipper, the far superior woodie at the park.
Nobody should rag on steel-supported woodies. If it's good enough for my beloved Coney Island Cyclone - it's good enough for everything that comes after it!

I guess you rode a different Villain than me, Moosh! In its prime, I would put it squarely in my top 5 woodies if I kept such lists.

I've gotten some *wild* rides on Villain. On this last trip I can see where some of the "mild-mannered" might have called it too rough, it WAS quite bumpy, but the INTENSITY still made up for it. My first visit (SFWoA) it was considerably smoother, but no less intense. I'd rather be "roughed up a bit" than bored by a wooden coaster ANY day...

Of course, I *loved* Dipper too....

And steel supports have little to NO bearing on a ride....my opinion.

Here's my attempt at blasphemy for the day.

When Villain was running well I would compare it to a watered down takeoff of GR. It had good airtime and some decent laterals but not quite up to GR standards. Yet the two delivered a similar ride experience for me.

(ducks flying debris from Moosh and other GR fanboys)

Yeah is Good!
I'm sorry...GR? Giant Rider? Green Racer? Geogia Runner?

As soon as it is revealed to me, i will probably slap my forehead...

Ghost Rider!

Can I slap your forehead for you? ;)

Yeah is Good!
Here, I'll slap it for you.

Ghostrider!

*WHACK*

You're welcome ;)

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

Ouch x 2!
"GR" was clearly referring to "Gold Rush" at Wild Adventures in Georgia! ;)

Back-seat air-time whore.
